location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/25/07
location, location, location, at a great price what more can i say. We had a great stay over January 2006 the only downside was, one day the lift broke down for a few hours and we had to carry all our shopping we'd splashed out on up three flights of stairs.

A New York loft apartment - what more do you want?
By Bobo, 3/6/07
I chose the location because I had been to New York many years ago and loved the vibe of the Village so thought this would be a great place to stay for 3 days in New York with my partner and teengage son. So a one bedroom apartment with sofa bed seemed to be the best option offering the freedom to feel like you're actually living in the City and with more room and better value than a hotel. So I booked the Bleecker St Signature Suite aparment (with some trepidation having read the mixed reviews) and became more concerned when my 8pm arrival turned into a 1am arrival due to being stuck in a snow storm in a train from Montreal. However, there was no problem, and I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived and the doorman was expecting me. But the biggest surprise came when I opened the door to my apartment - a true New York loft apartment that was clean, lot's of living room with two leather couches, upstair loft bedroom with skylight and huge walk-in wardrobe, a bathroom and toilet downstairs and a toilet upstairs, and a view of downtown Manhattan. The bed was comfortable and clean and the sofa bed was more than adequate for my son. The service was indifferent but helpful and friendly enough. Information was not readily volunteered but when prompted, questions were pleasantly answered and this was as much as I expected (if I wanted 5 star service I would have stayed in 5 star accommodation). The few neighbours I met were also friendly. All in all, the cental location in the Village was brilliant and the loft apartment was great value for money and I felt like I lived, not stayed, in New York for a few days - a true New York experience. Not all apartments are top floor with loft though, so if that's what you want make sure you ask.

Would Definitely Go Back!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/20/06
The Atrium Suites are ideal if you are willing to be on your own. This is not a hotel, this a short-term apartment rental. Laundry facilities down the hall; I was in a one-bedroom apt which was more than adequate for my stay and roomier than a one-room hotel room. Clean linens were available upon request. The apt was comfortable and the location was great. I really felt "at-home" and not like I was staying in a hotel. I definitely plan to return the next time I am in New York. While it is nice to have a staff available for room service, cleaning your room and changing your linens, etc., the feeling of being in your own place also provides a sense of freedom. The basics are provided: dishes, linens, TV, and the rest is up to you. Being able to "eat in" is a help to the budget, as well. Very happy I chose the Atrium, and will do so again.

It's a good thing I live in Manhattan
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/06
I disliked how gross this place was. I had to stay here will my apartment on the Upper East Side was getting remodeled. This hotel certainly has NO SUITES. I am accustomed to surrounding myself with the finest and this was not it. If you would like to be carried to be by insects this is your place.

Great location, not so great service
By Melissa, 11/22/06
This furnished apartment rental has an awesome location and was a good size with good closet space, functional bathroom and clean towels and linens. However, there was no information nor any service available to us as guests - no toilet paper, no information about where we could empty our garbage cans, no fire safety information, no dialing instructions or cost information about how to use the telephone, etc. The doormen were always there, but never offered any assistance and when asked for assistance, could not be understood in their response. I would consider staying here again because the location was great, but - I would bring some cleaning supplies as the floor, dishes and bathtub were dirty. The final problem was that the checkout time is noon, but the electronic keys were changed at 11:30 causing us to be locked out of our room just as we were trying to get our things and get to the airport. Very frustrating!

Do not be fooled - not a hotel
By vicsin, 11/1/05
BE WARNED. This is not truly a hotel. The rooms are part of a large dorm-like residential building with full time residents. The rooms are large, furnished like an apartment and somewhat clean. The bed did not look like something I would want to sleep in, and I am not THAT discriminating. We ended up not staying upon arrival because when we arrived, they did not have our reservation. Check in is done through a security guard's bullet proof window on the first floor of a lobby where you receive a key in a white envelope with a handwritten name. There is supposedly an office on site, but was closed when we arrived. Upon calling information, I was informed there was no listing for Signature Suites Greenwich Village. The "security guard" who handles check in conveniently did not speak English when I was trying to explain I had booked a room and was forced to pay a deposit to guarantee it, and I wanted to speak to someone else. However, he did speak to someone who apparently told him to just give us someone else's room key as they had not show up yet. Not exactly a stand up establishment. We viewed the room and felt the whole experience was not worth losing sleep over. I was looking forward to a great village experince in this hotel that was more funky and not so traditional. We ended up not staying because I did not feel safe and later found the charge on my credit card even though they did not have a reservation for me. Still fighting because they refuse to refund the amount, let alone the first night's deposit because they say we were a no show.
