Overpriced, No Amenities & Dishonest
By Kelly, 12/28/09
Gym? No. Pool? No. Pets? No. Edible breakfast? No. Room service? Not until the inexplicable hour of 6 p.m. Parking: $17 per night, plus tax. View from the 3rd floor balconies: Trash on the rooftops of dilapidated brick buildings. In addition to what is lacking, the rooms are shabby, moderately-sized and nothing above what would be found in a Hilton Garden Inn. To top things off, FQI charged me $100 more per night than the rate they quoted me, then refused to honor the original quoted rate when I complained. FQI was a terrible experience—Charleston Place is similarly priced and has all of the above amenities plus a gorgeous spa. Do yourself a favor and stay there instead!

we would go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/09
The location was pretty much centrally located and within easy walking distance of lots of attractions. The atmosphere and staff treated us wonderfully. It was a somewhat small hotel, but I, personally, liked that better. The only thing I regret that it didn't have was a pool.

EXCELLENCE-EXPERIENCE-ENTHUSIASM-EFFICIENCY
By Deborah, 05/27/09
This was the very best hotel experience I have ever enjoyed! I stayed here with my daughter on a combined business/recreational trip. This hotel is close to everything that we wanted to experience on our stay in Charleston. The accomodations were clean, comfortable and beautiful with excellent appointments. In general, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous, with all of the amenities for which one could ask. The staff was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I even saw one of the front desk staff who was "off-duty" one afternoon as I was touring the market. Imagine my amazemen when she recognized me, and made it a point to greet me and offer sight-seeing suggestions that I might enjoy! That is definitely above and beyond the call of duty! The afternoon wine and cheese along with the warm cookies in the evening were just a couple of the fine examples of the extra attention to detail that is given to guests at this hotel to make one's stay something to be remembered. I truly felt that I was treated as a "guest" and not as an inconvenience. This is the ONLY hotel I will stay in when I am in Charleston!

By Robin, 03/16/08
Very nice and comftorable...The service and staff were great.Everything was within walking distance. We Love to sit outside and fortunatley for us our room was just a few steps from the balcony on the front of the Inn, so it was nice to be able to sit there and enjoy the outside. We will definatley being staying there again. The amenities are outstanding. DalyBlessing Chuck Daly and Robin Blessing

Should have stayed at Planters Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/22/07
Usually stay at Charleston Place .... Wanted a "different" place to stay to celebrate my daughter's graduation from College of Charleston - a place that she could remember associated to this special event. Even called the general manager to share this experience NO REAL RESPONSE - "I'll research it." Even though he didn't ask how he could get back to me, I did tell him that I left my phone number on his voice mail. The weekend started ... Showed up early and they stored our luggage. It took about an hour to get the luggage back after we checked in. Twice they said it was coming so with a deadline to make I jumped into the shower and waited and waited. Later...asked for a couple of items to be delivered to the room - and more wait time - still waiting for the towels, never got the wake up call. I guess the manager is still researching. My daughter's father stayed at Planters Inn and she went back and forth between the hotels. She made the comparision more clear... "Dad's hotel was much quicker to respond." Should have stayed there. Next time!

Perfection!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/06
Talk about Southern hospitality...The entire staff, from the valet to the housekeeper, was as friendly and helpful as could be. The concierge was extremely knowledgable about the city, and gave us a good deal of assistance and advice. The location was incredible. We never even took our car out until the third day. There was so much to do and see, all within a short walking distance. The local restaurants were incredible, with the Penninsula Grill topping the list. We had a huge suite, with a balcony overlooking the city. What a treat. And speaking of treats, the complimentary champagne and lady fingers, wine and cheese buffet, warm cookies at night, iced tea bar with candy...perfect. The continental breakfast was a delight, offering a wide selection of breakfast fare. Elegant! I would go back in a heartbeat.

Wish I had more time to enjoy!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/06
I loved everything about FQI! The amenities were too many to name, from valet parking, to wine and cheese, a pillow service, breakfast in bed, the list goes on and on you could not ask for more. To top it all off the staff was very friendly and more than willing to answer questions and make suggestions on places to eat and see. The location was also great, we were in walking distance to the market place, the harbor and many shops and restaurants. The day after we left I was online planning our next visit to FQI. It is worth every penny!

Best place to stay in Charleston!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/06
Great rooms, beds, location, and staff. In the afternoons, they serve wine, cheese & fruit. They also have iced tea and cookies waiting for you after a day of shopping & sightseeing. What a nice touch.
