Bad Stay, Bad Service

I thought this trip was going to be a nice trip to Savannah for a friends wedding. Well it started out that my boyfriend not feeling well with a 102 fever but insisted that we go.
So when we drive up the Valley Service personal greeted me and informed me that they were the only ones who could park the car and there was a $25.00 fee. I am uneasy letting someone I JUST met drive my car ANYWHERE. So I left my sick boyfriend in the car. I then went in to check in while during the check in process they asked if I was having the Valley Service park my car, I then told them that the guy told me I had no choice, they told me that I had a choice but there were not free parking lots. I had a choice to park my car behind the building for $10.00 a day but it was not insured if something happened to my car VS the hotel parking my car and if anything happened they would be liable for it. So I was aggravated at this point and said just do it. Other than that the check in process was smooth.
I proceeded to go to the floor that our room was located on, I knew it was a bad sign when I arrived to the room; started to put the room key and maintenance opened the door and walked out. He said that he was through with the room but housekeeping needed to come wipe down the bathroom. Upon entering the room it was a STRONG smell of cigarette smoke and house keeping came in and strictly wiped down the bathroom. I was extremely aggravated at this point but the wedding was at 5 PM at this point it was 4 PM.
I got ready to take a shower, once I took my shoes off the entire floor was sopping wet. It was awful. I had to wear my shoes into the bath and put them on after getting out of the shower. Not the way a room should be and maintenance should have warned me of this and not to monition that front desk should not have put us in the room.
So we go to the wedding and come back at 9 PM, room still reeks. At 2 AM my boyfriend is getting worse so I get out of bed to get a phone book to call the hospital. NO PHONE BOOK in the room!! SERIOUSLY? So I get dressed, walk down to the front desk, ask the night clerk of the nearest hospital. “I don’t drive and I don’t know of the hospital” is what he said WOW! While standing next to a guy who is drunk wanting the clerk to call a cab to take him to a bar in South Carolina…..
Go to get the car, they can’t find the ticket to find out the lot where the car is parked, come to find out they parked the car in the back parking lot. Remember the “back parking lot” that the front desk clerk told me was $10 public parking and would not be ensured if anything happened.
HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! And will not recommend anyone to stay there. Sad thing is I work at a hotel, same family hotel.
