Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/4/11
It was a great hotel, I stayed there a few nights. I paid for most of it with a free gift card that I got from ESPN. I think they're still giving them out at nflgiftcards.info, hurry before they run out!

A New York treasure
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/12/06
This hotel is one of a kind. The service was amazing and the 'extras' were unbeleivable. They offer FREE breakfast, FREE wine and cheese in the evenings, and FREE snacks all day long.

Simply Fantastic
By Glen, 1/29/06
The Library hotel is prefectly situated next to Grand Central Station, so most places are easy accessible either walking or taking the subway. The Library theme is a perfect fit for the atmosphere it trys to instill. If you're kind of traveller that requires minimal fuss and staff that are never too obtrusive, then this is a good place to stay. We stayed in a smaller room during the New Year so the cost was pricey, but was probably due to the period. Breakfast was included in price - a very decent buffet set in a communal reading type room. There was also evening wine and cheese every night but we never were there to experience it. (Come on you don't travel to stay in a hotel!) The room was quite small, but perfect for our needs. Very clean and functional. One word of warning and not sure if this prevalent in all NY hotels is that the secure safe is not secure as they opened it up during day whilst we'd been out, nothing had been taken but guess with all the terrorist threat they were being extra careful. At the top floor there is an atrium, which would be good for summer, but then again you ask yourself would stay all night at the hotel when visiting New York?

Different
By KaronneJ, 9/27/05
This place was pricy but different. A unique experience to say the least, but worth it. Everything looked very...museum-y. Nice location and decent service. Good view on the higher floors.

Best kept secret in Manhattan!
By Karen, 5/11/05
The Library Hotel is a small boutique hotel who's theme is of course a library! Situated a block away from NYC library, (who's guardian lion's Patience and Fortitude greet you as you glance down the street from the hotel's main entrance), this extremely clean, well decorated and professionally staffed hotel is the best kept secret in Manhattan! Each floor's theme is a mimic from libraries all over this country, ie., History, Art, Science, and each of the rooms per floor are a subset of the main topic with such varied choices as zoology, ancient history, photograpy, logic and even paranormal science. Food and beverages are available 24/7, with a continental breakfast and an afternoon wine and cheese reception included in the price of the room. The staff is professional and very attentive. Although some of the rooms are a little small, the beautiful decor makes you feel so relaxed and pampered that it becomes only a minor issue. Its central location makes is the perfect base for ventures out into the differing sections of the city. Train, subway, bus and taxi service are all within one block of the hotel, something we appreciated after a long day of walking and shopping. The only dissappointment was with the restaurant, Brazzini, and that was probably because we didnt eat there. The menu wasn't varied enough for our tastes and when we wanted to eat at the hotel we wanted a more relaxed atmosphere. But maybe we're just a little too fussy, and its not a big enough issue to keep away from this wonderful hotel the next time we travel to the big apple.
