BEST WESTERN Avalon Hotel, New Orleans

Very clean rooms and staff was very friendly. It's was normally very quiet and peaceful. Parking was also convenient and easily accessible. It has a convenient location for people who has family members or events to attend in New Orleans East.

I chose this hotel b/c my family and I were going to spend sometime at 6 Flags and explore the French Quarter. 6 Flags is literally down the street and the Quarter was very easy to get to. Service: When we checked into the hotel, I checked my bill and we had been charged for 2 hideaway beds which we did not order. It was simple to call the front desk and get it taken off. Parking isn't that plentiful. Cleanliness: I am always leary of hotel rooms and I always bring lysol and spray everything. It was neat arranged. The doors to the rooms are right next to each other but I never heard people in the other rooms. The pool is outside and isn't that large Location: Its true you can see it from the interstate but the service road was a little confusing. Turn left at the light and take the curve by Popeyes all the way down. Value: We had two different rates the nights we spent there. 55 and 59. Overall: The staff was helpful, the shuttles are convient but fill up fast so I never used them but I brought my laptop and utilized the internet hook up. I used Yahoo Maps to find my way everywhere in New Orleans. In the lobby they also had very helpful booklets that had a map of the French Quarter. There is a resturant inside the hotel but its a pricey tourist trap. There are several eateries in the area that you could go to. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 8.5

It was hard to find. It took us an hour to get it. Hotel shuttle service were rude. No decent restaurants around the area. It was part of the pricelince deal.

The food was great , service was excellent and hotel was very clean.People were very friendly and always offered to help in any way.

We stayed here during Sugar Bowl 2005. The rate was very reasonable, and we expected an average room. We were pleasantly surprised to find a very clean, good-smelling room, very pleasant employees and a beautiful lobby. The breakfast was wonderful, we had a paper every morning and everyone was always smiling and asking if we needed anything-you don't get that at the expensive hotels! Great job to Best Western, we will definitely stay here again and will tell all of our friends!

We had a good housekeeping staff. The hotel was a little difficult to find due to the fact that there is no exit off I-10.Access to the highway from the hotel was very easy.The breakfast was only ok.Hotel is located 15 minutes from the city which was what we were loking for.

The Hotel was not ready for Continental Breakfast. Long Lines and not enough staff or food to keep it stocked. They only had a two slice toaster and you had to get in a line to make your own. They only put out two cereals a day and none were kid friendly and they did not have doughnuts. The muffins and danish were also not kid friendly. Overall not the best place I have ever stayed. Next time I will stay at the Best Western Landmark in Metairie.

Very clean rooms, spacious, excellent housekeeping, and very private!

I selected the hotel because of the rate. I needed a one night stay in town and didn't want to spend a lot. My wife and I wanted a safe location followed by a clean hotel and we received both. No problems at all. Great room, safe area, free breakfast (muffins, cereal, juice, pastries, toast). We are still amazed our final price was only $50. Thanks Yahoo.
