Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast, New Orleans

Mr. and Mrs. Rabhan are exceedingly gracious hosts. They are welcoming, friendly, helpful, generous with their time and meticulous in keeping up their home for visitors. Avenue Inn is neat as a pin, clean and redolent with history. Books and magazines about New Orleans are at your fingertips. My room was comfortable, very clean, spacious and quiet. Their breakfast cakes are outstanding, the coffee bracing. The setting is out of a fairy tale: rumbling old streetcars carry you 20 minutes to the French Quarter with breezes cooling you on your way. Around you are brick churches, 1850's mansions, and greenery everywhere you look. Awaiting you are steamboats, mysterious old taverns under wrought-iron balconies from which spill flowers of riotous color, and historic homes of Confederate generals and Ursuline nuns. Stuffed with sugared beignets from Cafe du Monde, you shop on Royal, party on Bourbon and perhaps atone at St. Louis Cathedral on Jackson Square, its banana leaves rustling in the prevailing breezes. A stay at Avenue Inn is your portal to adventure, history, romance and excitement. I highly recommend Avenue Inn.

The Avenue Inn is the perfect combination of what we look for in accommodations when we visit other cities — central and convenient location, charming guest rooms that are fairly priced, attentive & knowledgable staff. Bebe & Joe, the proprietors, are wonderful. Located along beautiful St. Charles, the trolley is just a few steps away, making it so easy to get anywhere in town.

Perfect location and Joe and Bebe are great. A very quiet, clean and comfortable room and very close to Magazine St. and the French Quarter. I have already been recommending this to friends and will definitely stay there again when I return. Thanks again Joe and Bebe!

Awesome stay at the Avenue Inn! Joe and Bebe are wonderful hosts, starting with the warmest welcome and orientation, then recommendations on places to eat and see, all given our personal time constraints. Our room was amazing! Delightfully charming Victorian style, the most comfortable bed ever, lovely (environmentally friendly) bathroom amenities, instantly hot water with great water pressure in the shower, clean and comfortable throughout. Breakfast was plentiful, and the generous selection of snacks and bottled water available around the clock was a much appreciated bonus. The location couldn't be better - a beautiful neighborhood for walking, right on the streetcar line, great location. Loved being in this old, beautiful mansion, and Joe and Bebe truly treated us as guests in their home. I'll definitely be returning to NO, and this is the only place I'd consider staying!

I absolutely love the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast! I felt right at home as soon as I walked in the door. The location is perfect and Joe and BeBe are great. I will never stay anywhere else in New Orleans!

The Avenue B&B was one of the highlights of our recent trip to NOLA. After a few days on a business trip closer to the French Quarter, coming uptown to this quintessentially charming, Victorian-adorned B&B was a breath of fresh air. The moment we arrived, Joe and BeBe welcomed us and immediately made us feel like family. Completely knowledgable about the Uptown / Garden District, as well as Quarter and Marigny, they provided personalized tips about restaurants and attractions. And not the, "I hear it's good" kind of crap you get from most hotel concierges. They personally know many of the local restaurant owners and are fixtures in the neighborhood. They promptly made reservations on our behalf, and helped us rejigger our schedules to fit in one of their local favorites. They pointed us toward fun dive bars, as well as fine dining spots. Joe upgraded our room to a lovely one bedroom with a scenic view of St. Charles St. Our bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was equipped with everything you'd expect in a good hotel. They advised us on an awesome running route in order to see the Audobon Park. Breakfast was simple, continental variety (try the special cinnamon raisin bread) that's what you really want if you'll be loading up on beignets, fried oysters and Sazeracs later, anyway! Located a few miles outside of the French Quarter, the Avenue is on the very same street as the charming NOLA streetcar, and is easily accessible via cabs or bikes. The prices were also quite reasonable, and I was pleased that there was no three-night minimum stay (something required by many of the other nearby B&Bs). My only regret re: our stay at the Avenue B&B is that it wasn't longer. Joe and BeBe are definitely making it on my holiday card mailing list, and the Avenue B&B should make it on your "must-visit" list if you're staying in Crescent City!

Location, decor were great. The room was quiet and HUGE.

The Avenue Inn is like location right out of a romance novel. This place was so amazing with the beautiful decorations and a location are to die for. The Inn looks like a Southern bell should walk down the staircase at any time. The rooms are perfect decorated in a beautiful Southern style. The owners are so helpfull and kind. They were willing to hold our luggage for us after we checked out. The location is wonderfull a trolley stops right in front of the inn. The owners are also very carefull about security and I felt safe the whole time I was there. I really enjoyed the apple cake and fresh coffe in the morning. I felt the whole time that I was a heroine in my very on romance novel.

The host was grumpy. Don't ask for anything, like another towel, etc. It has a stale, musty odor. The rooms are not too clean. Location is good.

We spent Christmas weekend in New Orleans visiting our son and my wife booked us a room at Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast. It was a delightful experience, Joe and Bebe are very warm and welcoming people, and they made us feel at home right off the bat. We had never stayed at a B & B before and we now may be spoiled, what a wonderful home and the room was amazing. Overall I couldn't be happier, perfect location, good value and having breakfast and coffe on the porch it felt we actually lived there.We'll be back!
