Great Location, Charming Inn
By Lauren, 05/06/09
We visit New Orleans often because our daughter attends college there. Now, after trying various accommodations, we have finally found our New Orleans "home-away-from-home." Our room was large, clean, extremely comfortable, warm and charming. The inn has a perfect location: in the Garden District, on the streetcar line, and a short walk from beautiful Magazine Street (where we love to eat and shop). The innkeepers always hit a home run when recommending places to eat. They were also always available to answer our questions, assist with transportation, and provide general information. We also enjoyed eating breakfast in the garden, and sitting on the front porch at night. The inn made our latest stay in New Orleans special.

Southern Charm in this Garden District B&b
By LucidGirl, 08/05/08
Can't say enough good about this place. Huge Victorian house, antiques, awesome beds, right on the St. Charles streetcar line. Totally quiet, very private. Innkeepers Joe and Bebe were so welcoming and helpful. Every question and need was accomodated immediately and cheerfully. It was like staying in a good friend's home.

The best Inn in the South
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/07
Looking for a place to stay that has character and class, then the Avenue Inn is the place for you. Upon arriving you can immediately feel the warmth and attractiveness of this bed and breakfast. The innkeepers are extrememly knowledgeable about the area and go out of their way to make you feel welcome in their home. The rooms are beautiful and very accomodating. So if you are planning a trip to New Orleans, this is the place to stay. You won't be disappointed!

DEFINITELY A PLACE TO STAY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/10/07
When we arrived at the Inn, we were greeted warmly by the innkeeper Joe, who gave us a map of New Orleans and told us all must-see places. The Inn is homey and ideally located - close to Tulane and Loyola Universities, the French Quarter, and Magazine Street. We fell in love with New Orleans, which is an amazing city, and as safe as any other major city in the U.S. If anyone is planning a vacation sometime soon, definitely go to New Orleans, and DEFINITELY stay at the Avenue Inn bed and breakfast!!

My favorite place to stay
By LaKisha, 04/06/07
I've just returned from New Orleans and the Avenue Inn is my favorite place to stay. This is my third time there and I absolutely love it. The location is perfect. You can easily get to any of the night clubs or shopping. In addition, the house is beautiful and relaxing. I just love sitting on the porch, drinking my coffee, and reading a book. New Orleans is one of the best places in the country to visit; I had so much fun there and the Avenue Inn was a big part of that. I can't wait to come back on a romantic getaway.

A perfect place if you've never been to New Orleans
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/26/07
This B&B is in a wonderful old house in the Garden District but, even better, you'll feel like you're visiting in the home of an old friend. Joe and his wife were most welcoming and went out of their way to guide us to the things we wanted to see and do in New Orleans. Joe booked reservations for our meals, including the best known spots as well as some "secret" treasures, all of which were exceptional. Location is great, within walking distance of some great restaurants and bars, plus Magazine Street, with tons of shopping, is close by. Our room was spacious and well appointed. We particularly enjoyed the sitting area with sofa so our friends could join us for a nightcap and a "recap" of the day's activities. Another plus from a guy with back problems: our bed had one of the best hotel mattresses I've ever slept on. From a knowledgeable innkeeper to great rooms, a cozy front porch with rockers and the unique "snack tower" (you'll have to experience it to believe it), this is a great spot for newcomers or experienced New Orleans travellers. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent choice for a New Orleans stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/16/07
Not only does this restored mansion have a wonderful location on St. Charles Avenue, but it is also superbly run. The rooms are beautiful, and also comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean. Our bed was comfortable. The owners and staff were never in the way but always available if needed. In sum, things worked the way they should work, easily and with no fuss. We will certainly return.

Best place to stay in New Orleans!
By Nydia, 01/14/07
New Orleans is still the great place to visit that it has always been! At the Avenue Inn I immediately felt at home! The home is beautiful and the innkeepers work hard to make your stay memorable. The Inn's location offers convenient access to all the tourist attractions and also offers privacy and security. I will come back!

Amazing home away from home!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/04/06
Can't beat the Garden District! Just steps from Magazine Ave and all the eclectic shopping NOLA has to offer. Just minutes from the French Qtr without all the noise! The atmosphere is low key, the breakfast was fresh, the snack tower was also handy - loved that! The rooms are spacious, comfy, and well decorated. The hosts were helpful in finding restaurants and making suggestions on what to visit.

re-freshed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/06
We had a wonderful time. Our room was clean and spacious. The front porch with rocking chairs were quite relaxing. In addition, they have a court yard area in the front yard that is quaint. The B&B is located on St. Charles St. which is close to Audubon Park, and close to down town but not to close. We went for a walk, and felt very safe(there were numerous joggers.) The Inn Keepers were helpful but did not try to disturb your quiet time. Didn't see any signs of hurricane damage. If there was any hurricane damage, it was fixed.
