Awsome Hotel = )
By James Muller, 6/20/10
Likes: Big Fancy Hotel across from the Convetion center, lot's of stores around, but they close kind of early though. The ground floor is a great place to hang with your friends or family, they have this cool iPAD touch table thing which is fun to mess with. We stayed on the 17th floor, the view was great. I would stay here again for sure.

Wonderful (but expensive) hotel!
By Jessica, 4/12/10
Such a beautiful hotel! The lobby/lounge was so pretty and very relaxing to hang out in. Our room was on the 21st floor and had an amazing view. The room was nice. Instead of the generic watercolors that most hotel rooms have, the Sheraton Grand had photographs of Sacramento-- a nice touch! The bed was so soft and comfortable. The hotel staff was very accomdating and pleasent to deal with. We had an early flight (we arrived 8 hours before check-in) and while our room wasn't available, we were able to check our luggage at the concierge desk. The next day after we had checked out and were waiting for our late flight we did that too. The hotel's restaurant, Morgan's Central Valley Bistro, is a little on the pricey side, but it has great food. I ordered the Truffle Macaroni and Cheese (although I got it withou the truffles/truffle oil, so it was just basic Mac&Cheese) and it was easily the best I have ever had. The Squash Soup was also good. The waiters were really nice! The hotel was right across the street from the Convention Center and about two blocks from the Capital. Great location! The hotel was within walking distance of a lot. Capitol is just around the block, the Westfield Mall is about a 5 minute walk and Old Town Sacramento is about 5 minutes past the mall. It was expensive, which was understandable because of how nice of a hotel it was and it's location, but they charged for things things like using wifi in your room (although you can use the computers/internet/wifi in the computer lounge on the 2nd floor). One thing I should note is that there are no reastaurants near the hotel that are open at 8 PM. If you are looking for a late dinner, the only place availible is Morgan's. Overall, I really enjoyed the Sheraton Grand, and I would definately stay there again/ recommend it to people!

Will never stay here again!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/19/09
We are SPG members and were told they had club floor privileges when we made our reservation earlier on the same day. When we arrived front desk staff extremely rude!! They have no SPG amenities available now. We ate in the restaurant it was delicious and our waiter was great. The room was below average, the shower was moldy and toilet was a constant problem.

Great Beginning
By DanielO, 6/8/07
The Hotel was excellent. Check in was a breeze even at 11:45 PM at night. The lounge and resturant beautiful. The room was spacious and very accommodating. The location was perfect for exploring downtown Sacramento to include Old Sacramento. The only negative thing was I was charged for their internet access. This was the first two nights of a 7 day trip through northern CA. The rest of the hotels I stayed in i.e. La Quinta, Marriott etc along the way all had free internet.

disappointing once again
By gestring, 12/2/06
This is my second stay within the past month and I have again been disappointed. Both times I had reserved a king bed and both times I received the same room for the handicapped, with two double (or small queen) beds. The television has captions for the hearing impaired, which could not be removed and interfered with viewing. The shower curtain smelled moldy, the shower head did not work properly, the toilet backed up twice which necessitated maintenance service. I called to speak to the manager on my first day here, but never heard back from him/her. He finally left a message on my voicemail on the second day, but I figured that with only one short day left that I did not want to change rooms and go through that inconvenience. If my conference was not being held at this hotel I would have gone to the nearby Hyatt, which my colleague did do...and was pleased with his accommodations.

okay place to crash
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/26/06
The bed was comfortable. On our way up to our room, we had an elevator conversation with other guests regarding the distinctly unwelcoming demeanor of the front desk staff.

best place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/23/06
We have stayed at several places, this is by far the nicest, the people are extraordinary, the food great and so much better than Red Lion or the Hilton.

very convenient and comfortable
By Deborah, 5/13/06
I really liked the hotel and the convenience to the convention center. The valet parking is a little awkward, being right on a busy street, and expensive at $21 a night. The room service was good food and served in a timely manner, but quite expensive (especially the extra charges). The room was great, and the beds very comfortable.
