Welcome to the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Kinston, the ideal hotel for business or leisure. Also welcome to historic Kinston, North Carolina home of the Kinston Indians Baseball team that plays at Grainger Stadium. We are located just off US 70 midway between Raleigh and the Carolina Coast. Originally established as a tobacco inspection center in 1759 along the banks of the Neuse River, the city was first known as Kingston (named for King George III of England). In 1784 following the revolutionary war the people of Kingston requested the letter ?????????G????????? be dropped. In 1826 Kinston was incorporated. Come see the many historical sights Kinston has to offer such as the C.S.S. Neuse State Historic Site and the Caswell Center No.1 Fire Station Museum. If you are traveling here on business, there are plenty of companies in the area including Electrolulx, Smithfield Foods, and West Pharmaceuticals. While staying with us our rooms are equipped with a work desk and free high-speed Internet. We also offer spacious king suites which include whirlpool tubs. In the evening come down to the lobby and indulge yourself with some of our fresh baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies as well as fresh fruit. Our hotel will do its best to meet your every need to make your stay as perfect as possible. Visit Kinston and Stay Smart at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites.

Needs updating
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/31/08
I've stayed here several times on business. Keep coming back because of location...near restaurants, etc. The whole hotel needs to be updated. Learned on my last stay they are in the process of doing that now. Very frustrating to have to move to another room just because something is broken and they don't have a ready replacement! Front desk staff is pleasant, tried to help.

Great stay for two nights!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/30/07
The staff were friendly and checkin was quick. The rooms were spacious and the bed was very comfortable with all those pillows. There was a lot to choose from at breakfast and it was very good. Most times I hardly eat breakfast at most hotel, but this one I couldn't wait for the hot cinnamon rolls to come out of the oven. Oh, I must mention the bathroom was clean and the toiletry for our use was outstanding. I really felt like I was home away from home. I was on business but if I had to come to Kinston on pleasure, I would choose this hotel.

Comfortable and affordable
By SHIRLEY, 04/01/06
The rooms had plenty of luggage space and were maintained really good. I enjoyed the little gym that was setup but needed more equipment, such as free weights. I did not like the fact that when I looked out my window it was a cemetary, kind of creepy. The overall stay at the hotel was good.

Home away from home!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/05
It was a last minute stay for a couple of days, but the staff was so helpful in accommadating my family with the BEST SERVICE. We had 3 sets of family members and in the midst of another family reunion the clerks managed to put us up for 3 nights. The clerks were so friendly and they made us feel like we were a part of a huge family...and the hotel was just "home" away from home. The breakfast was great! We will be back in a couple of weeks to have another great experience at Holiday Express-Kinston, N.C.! ( All of this took place in August 2004) The Brown's
