Description

This Mexican-owned all inclusive beach resort really caters to families and this is reflected in their reasonable prices and excellent children's program. For the adults there are a variety of activities including the Sand Dollar Sports for diving or snorkeling. The grounds resemble a Mexican village with unit of 8 placed together under palapa roofs. Most of the rooms are ocean view and all are decorated in bright Mexican colors and furnishings. The staff here are noted for their genuine warmth and hospitality.

Think Motel 6 with upgrades !
By ,
Pictures are better than reality for this hotel. The location is very nice ,great beach front location and lots of lush landscape ,mosquitoes at no extra charge! The hotel is mostly block style buildings with lifted rampways to the various blocks of rooms .For the average rooms they are small but adequate .Salvation Army must have donated the bedding because it is low budget .There were numerous problems with our rooms.Lights out ,plumbing problems, cleaner problems, room lock problems, drawers spilling your clothes,1 day lacking hot water. One side of the resort to the south has sewer smell, lots of cart noise early in the morning from the relentless carts going by your rooms. To top it off you are given at start of stay 1 or 2 quart bottles of water ,the clincher :you have to take them to the bar to refill every day or you will not have any water .Mosquito fogging machine goes through on occasion without warning ,kind of nasty as the fog goes everywhere .There is a mosquito concern so bring your spray.Maintainence and management is seriously lacking ,otherwise it could be a clear 3 star resort.Food was good and service in restaurants was friendly and efficient.Only 2 pools so plenty busy and not much room for the amount of guests. Be wary of the lobby sales sharks as these hucksters are pushy and it is a shame the resort allows this to happen to their guests upon arrival!I met many disappointed guests that said they would not return to Wyndham Resort.Never have I met up with so many problems in a week stay .If all one wants is food ,drink and a bed it may be just what you like ,however folks used to better levels of accommodations and service it may be too much frustration .I used to think the Wyndham chain was upper class but now I have a different opinion .If i were upper corporate management I would be worried and looking for a new manager and maintainance staff .This hotel is a black eye to a hotel chain trying to be better class .

Great Hotel, Wonderful Experience
By ,
We recently stayed here, Dec 2007. I stayed with my Husband and my 5 year old daughter and 13 year old neice. This hotel was great. Very family oriented, my 5 year old even cried because she was going to miss the staff. We did get a little tired of the breakfast buffet...and when ( not if ) we go back, we will take time to eat outside of the hotel. Overall it was great. Good beach, great snorkeling, wonderful staff, I will definately be back and go with more of my family. One of the best vacations I have taken. We toured the Adult only section as well. Looked great. And they will have a family section next December ready to go... looks just beautiful. That is where we will book for next year. They have reliable, free, internet access as well in the lobby. Overall a wonderful place, away from downtown which is nice. Great staff and very clean.

Great trip!
By ,
Just got back from our trip at the reef club and we had a great dive. Our main reason for staying there was the great access to scuba diving, and I did get 9 dives in during a 1 week stay. We are a married couple in our late twenties and traveled with my father and our 8 month old son. Pros: Great food and drinks Great access to diving through Sand Dollar Sports Not a huge mega resort feel, you can walk everywhere. Very friendly employees Cons: Beach directly in front was very rocky, but you can walk just a couple resorts to the south for great beach access

Excellent Vacation
By ,
Excellent Vacation, way better than expected. Only place I thought could use improvement is the beach, which lacked some sand due to Hurricane Wilma, but they were working on that during our stay.

Highly Recommend
By ,
My husband and I just got back from the Reef Club, Cozumel - Aug 25 - Sept1/07. What an awesome place to stay! Staff are friendly and helpful, resort is very clean, we loved the food and all amenties were readily available. Snorkelling was fantastic. Great place to relax. Spa was also really nice too. Also highly recommend the deep sea fishing tour offered at Sand Dollar sports. We decided before we even came home that we'll be back someday (soon I hope!!!!)

Awsome
By ,
Everyone was very friendly and the food was great. Our room was awsome, we had a wonder full deck right in front of the beach and a bar just a few steps away. All inclusive hotels are great for a relaxing vacation.

our stay
By ,
my daughter got married last weekend, it was beautiful, marcia was excellent at getting all the details just right. our room however smelled like mold, which there were signs of it in the bathroom and patio. the showers went from hot to cold in just seconds. Sometimes very alarming! all other amenities were great!

We'll for sure be back!!!
By ,
My husband and I stayed at the Reef Club and Dive Resort June 2006 and we had an amazing time!! We went for our honeymoon and we are so glad that we chose this resort! Our room was always clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great to keep our room nice and cool. Our room was right by the pool bar which was quite convenient. We found that the staff was very accomodating and always friendly. We loved the pool bartender, he was always quick with a joke. You do have to walk some distances to get t some of the places on the resort, however, it is so beautiful that we enjoyed the walks. It was very romantic with the lighted pathways. We didn't really care too much for the buffet, however we did eat alot at the snack bar which was always good. The resturants were pretty good as well. We also got a couples massage right on the beach and it was absolutly amazing and relaxing. The beach was always beautiful and clean and we enjoyed snorkeling and the bannana boat ride. My husband and I absolutly cannot wait to go back to this resort. We hope to return once a year.

Not as great as you would want
By ,
Let's start with check in, we arrived at 3:30pm, so we waited for a room for about an hour, got in the room, hadn't been cleaned so we went back to table around the bar that you had to wait 10 minutes for a drink at. Don't let the pools fool you, there is no swim-up bar, we were never asked if we wanted to up-grade to the adults only part, one would think saying you are on your honeymoon would prompt them to ask, even for a $$. Watch the cups you grab to pour your own beer or water in, countless times they had soap in them. Dinner reservations at the 2 other restaurants on the property could cost you $$. Forget having a drink with your meal, you will get it on your last bite of food. Then their are the people who cut you in line at the bar, what there is a line 5 people deep. As a former manager, this place needs improvements with everything including the level of customer service! Oh and snorkling is only included around the resort!

Not as Described
By ,
Here's a little information. Unless you have traveled to the Reef Club before or are part of the vacation club ($$$) then you need to be prepared for what I am about to tell you. There are only 2 pools for the regular traveler. The swim up bar is for kids (serving only virgin drinks & popcorn). The swim-up bar pool is located next to the "little pirates" club. The other pool is the activities pool - so no louging around (volleyball & water polo). There are not as many restaurants either. For dinner there are 3 options (Vista Del Mar, Robertos, and La Isla). Only 1 option for breakfast (La Isla). 2 Options for lunch (Chili's & La Isla). Chili's food is on the poor quality, but if you are hungry... Some rooms come with a free combo safe and others there is $2 charge per day for a lock. If you want to use the non-motorized equipment, make sure to arrive in the morning to take their course (otherwise another fee of at least $20.00) Waverunners are $55.00 per half hour or $100.00 for 1 hour. Don't plan on taking many hot showers either (once the water is out, its out). You are given 1 bottle per room for water. It is your responciblity to refill the bottle during your stay. The rooms are nice, but they may or may not be ready when you arrive. We were put in an overflow room for 2 days. The maid service may not clean your room or they may get to it late in the afternoon (after 4 pm). To make a local call, there is a $1.00 charge per call. It was a nice place to stay - but just be prepared. We were there 6/24 - 7/1/07
