Silver Cloud Inn Lake Union, Seattle

Myself and my fiancee' stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay! We had a great view of Lake Union and were only minutes from area attractions. We will be staying here again when we return in late 2009. The only reason I didn't give them full marks for cleanliness is because they were doing some renovations of the parking decks.

We happened to stay at this hotel the week before christmas. One of the highlights of the trip was this hotel, very very nice indeed. If you are going to to the UW medical center definitely consider this hotel, they even offer a free shuttle to the hospital.

We stayed for a week and had a great time. If you have a car you will be close to everything. Downtown is 15 minutes away and the Space Needle is 5 minutes away. The breakfast was great and the coffee good. If you have kids this place will work for you. Pay the extra for a lake view fifth floor or above it is well worth it to have the lake view! You can see the Space Needle from your room! If you don't have a car the hotel has a shuttle or there is public transit outside the on the street. Why did I suggest the fifth floor and above for the lake view? you will have an unobstructed view otherwise you will just see the boat dock and offices across the street on the lower floors. Enjoy!

We went there for our aniversary. The bed was very comfortable!! Very clean room. Nice view!Walking distance to 6 restaurants all of them by the lake. We had dinner on the terace, very romantic. The 2 things we didn't like was that there was no more cofee in the lobby by 11 am and the secured parking garage was too tight .

Good location on Lake Union. Room was good and breakfast was fine in good dining room. Hotel a bit isolated from main parts of town but a complementary car into downtown was an advantage.

Hospitality was lacking here. The shuttle driver was sullen and made us wait while he measured the height of the van. The continental breakfast would have been great but the staff did not keep up with the replenishing of the food and plates. They were chitchatting with each other. No cheerfulness or pleasantries were afoot. The computer room was not monitored and some guests hogged the services. The pool had gunk of unknown origin. Also, the street noise was deafening and the chairs in our room were hard. What more could I say. I only wish that the staff had been more friendly so that we would have felt like we could ask more questions regarding our visit and touring options. They scared us!

The room was kept really clean. The free breakfast is available buffet style on the third floor in a room with large windows that overlook Lake Union and comfortable chairs around tables to sit in. Really a nice view as you eat a great free breakfast. I enjoyed making my waffles and putting strawberries on top and having orange juice and great coffee. Also, a large variety of danish and bagles along with cereals are available. Yogurt and hard boiled eggs also. We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. The free shuttle was really a great help to us as we flew in to Seattle and shuttle took us to places and picked us up. If you want to walk to a great restaurant near hotel-then try Doug's Chowder restaurant with excellent chowder and I liked the hamburgers. The hamburgers were so large that they gave you a large butcher knife to cut them. Get a side of sweet potato fries with your burger. There is outside seating. It has reasonable prices. Be sure and include Mt. Rainier in your trip. We took the Seattle City minibus tour to Mt. Rainier and the driver had previously climber Mt. Rainier and was very informative. The tour bus doesn't miss anything you want to see. There are stops for food going to Mt. Rainier and coming back. One restaurant has the best apple pie you will ever taste. The bus driver also stopped at a grocery store on way to Mt. Rainier so those who wanted to buy picnic supplies and picnic at Paradise at Mt. Rainier could do so instead of buying food at Paradise visitor's center. Charlotte H. Griffin

The Silver Cloud Lake Union is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The front desk was friendly upon checkin, answered all our questions and addressed all our concerns. He even gave us a free map of the area. We walked into our room and saw there was a seperate sink/mirror from the toilet/shower, which is convenient when you have two people in the room. We walked in further and saw 2 queen beds a good sized TV, a work area with a large desk and 2 french doors that opened up with a spectacular view of the Lake. It was really awesome. Each day the maids came, cleaned, made the beds and kept the room up quite nicely. The interior of the hotel is lovely too. They have 2 pools, one outdoor and one indoor, 2 spas, and an indoor gym near the lobby. They have a huge lounge on the third floor and a free continental breakfast every day...with good coffee too. They also offer FREE parking and a FREE shuttle service to several downtown spots. There is also a bus stop directly across the street. Everything about this hotel was great. I would 100% definitly stay there again.

We had booked a room at a botique hotel in Belltown and too bad we had the kids. We were able to switch to Silver Cloud at Lake Union and very pleased with the cleanliness. The breakfast was great and overlooks Lake Union. It's a little too far to walk to downtown but they have a shuttle.

The location of the hotel gives the most amazing view of the city as well as nature. It was gorgeous and well worth any travel it takes to get there. Great deal.
