Response to G M acted UNPROFESSIONALLY.
By ChrisF, 12/17/09
It would have been nice if Rich M told the whole story. Him and his wife stayed at the Best Western on April 30 & May 1. Rich's wife Debi called on 11/24 and stated that she had been overcharged by $173. The front desk agent asked when she was here. Debi gave the dates and the agent took her phone number and said we would call her back. After figuring out it had been 206 days since Rich and Debi checked out, we decided that it had been way to long. The front desk agent called the number back and got no answer. Debi decides to call again on December 10. I (The GM) spoke with her and told her that it had been way too long and asked her why she waited (206 days) so long to call. Her answer was that she procrastinated. She was unwilling to take no for an answer and told me I would be hearing from her credit card company and hung up. A few minutes later Debi's husband Rich called and inquired about being double charged. I gave him the same answer as Debi. He was unwilling to take NO for an answer. His response was why should we be penalized $173 for waiting a little too long to call. Since he would not take NO for an answer the conversation eventually got heated. Rich asked me "what kind of D*** Head are you? After looking into the reservation, Debi made an additional reservation on April 25. She had two rooms reserved for April 30 and nobody showed up for the second reservation, so it was charged as a No Show.

General Manager acted UNPROFESSIONALLY.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/11/09
We stayed at this hotel a few times over the past 4 years while our daughter was in college; 2 nights on this particular occasion. Very satisfied with facility, services on all visits. Unfortunately, my wife later noticed a double charge on our credit card statement. After a bit of phone tag she finally got G M Chris F on the phone (I heard her side) yesterday afternoon. I could tell she was getting frustrated, but she remained calm and professional. When she hung up and described his attitude and his words, I was dumbfounded. He essentially said that since we waited so long to follow up, he wasn't going to bother to deal with it. I called Mr. F back immediately and got the same treatment. Without quoting any policy, he simply said in so many words that it would be too much trouble to check into it. When I told him I would take it up with management, he all but dared me to. Honestly, his attitude was so unprofessional and childish, we had to laugh about it later. If the double charge was our own fault, tell us so with tact and respect. If I owned this hotel, I would not want a person of Chris F's ilk working there, much less running it.

Go somewhere else
By JP, 06/05/09
This hotel refused to work with me to modify my reservation when there was a schedule change in a 7 year old baseball tournament. My guess is that they must be hard up for visitors. On top of that the young lady I spoke to thought it was good customer service to debate with me who's fault it was. 'Who Cares'. There are plenty of hotels in this area. Go somewhere else where they are more friendly and customer oriented.

Great place for price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/07
I have stayed many, many, many times at this location! I know the houserules as if I was working there and I have to say that the last comment I read was full of lies. First of all; the hotel is since jan '07 NON SMOKING! It is not the staffs fault if some people dont obey the rules and smoke anyways. If they are able to tell who really smoked in the room, they have to pay big bugs! Second; The hotel IS pet friendly! They have a restrict of 20lbs for a non-refundable fee. Yes, I agree, it was wrong from the Desk Clerk not to do anything about the barking dogs. The hotel is very nice and offers a lot for the price! Yes, there are plenty of other hotels on 2nd street, but you will pay $130 plus and get less for the money. I would just recomand for people that comment on here to make sure they know what they are talking about before saying wrong things.

I keep going back!
By Stefani O, 11/28/07
I have stayed at this hotel at least a dozen times. My husband and I like the escape the kids and just go somewhere quiet. This is a great place. The rooms seem new and are very well maintained, we get non smoking and they do not smell of smoke at all. I would compare this to the embassy suites as far as the room goes but without the high price. The breakfast is just a continental breakfast so I dont expect much but its decent. Very friendly management and housekeeping. Never had any issues.

I booked this hotel sight unseen for a North-South trip across the country. The hotel is o.k., but nothing great. It is definite need of renovation. My biggest problem was that we were booked for a non-smoking room. That didn't do us a whole lot of good since we were surrounded by smoking rooms! Most hotels separate smoking and non-smoking by wings or floors. Not this one. My room REEKED. Even worse, by midnight, my son who has asthma was having difficulty breathing. The cherry on top was when the people next door checked in and they had two barking dogs. When I called the front desk to ask them to do something about the guests with dogs (no pets allowed in the hotel), I was told, "Well, they paid their money too." I was floored by that one. There are NO PETS ALLOWED and everyone else has to suffer because of a person who chose to disregard that fact? There are other hotels on the same street. Stay at one of those instead. (Unless you're a heavy smoker who travels with dogs, then this is the place for you!)

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/05
THIS IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO STAY, RESERVED TWO NON SMOKING ROOM FOR MY FAMILY, SHORTLY AFTER CHECKING IN REVIEW OF ROOMS REVEALED THAT MAINTENCE IS LACKING, BEDS WERE NOT PROPERLY MADE UP, CARPET WAS WORN OR SPLITING, TRASH BASKETS WERE MISSING, ROOMS WERE NEXT DOOR TO SMOKING ROOMS. AFTER CHECKING IN BECAUSE THERE WERE NO OTHER ROOMS AVAIL, ONE ROOM DEVELOPED A LEAK IN THE CEILING BECAUSE THE ROOM ABOVE LET THEIR TUB OVER FLOW, MANAGEMENT WAS ADVISE, OFFERED TO PUT BUCKETS IN BATHROOM, BUT HAD TO BE TOLD TO MOP UP WATER ON FLOOR, ADVISE GUEST ABOVE US OF PROBLEM, SINCE WE WERE TRAVELING AS A FAMILY, WHAT EFFECTS ONE ROOM EFFECT ALL FAMILY MEMBERS, WE ALSO COULD HEAR WATER RUNNING DOWN WALL WHEN GUEST ABOVE DECIDED TO THEN TAKE A SHOWER AFTER THE TUB OVER FLOWED WITH WATER. BECAUSE OF WATER LEAKING IN BATHROOM, ALL FAMILY HAD TO STAY IN ONE ROOM, MANAGEMENT FELT THEY ONLY NEEDED TO COMP ONE ROOM EVEN WHEN OUR CONCERNS WERE POINTED OUT TO THEM, DAUGHTER SUFFER ALLEGERY, WAS QUITE STRESS BY EFFECTS OF ANIMALS BEING ALLOWED TO STAY IN ROOMS, AND BY CONFUSION OF WATER LEAKING IN BATHROOM, TALKED TO CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVE AT BEST WESTERN NATIONAL WEB SITE WAS TOLD ALL INNS ARE INDIVIDUALLY OWNED AND THEY ALL MAKE THEIR OWN DECISIONS AS TO WHAT THEY WILL COMP A WHAT THEY WILL NOT. TOO MANY OTHER GOOD HOTEL IN EDMOND TO BE SUBJECT TO THIS SHOOTY SERVICE.

A great place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/05
This is our 2nd time to stay at the Best Western Edmond. As the 1st time it was excellent. The front desk was very friendly, helpful, and accomodating when we requested a first floor room. The pool was very pleasing for my 10 yr old niece. It made her spring break more pleasurable. The breakfast bar serves a variety of food which is accomodating for most. Wish had a little more healthier items. Having the internet in the lobby was a wonderful thing!!! I truly enjoyed the access to it!!! We go to Edmond each year for the Timed Event Championship and continue to stay at the Best Western. Jamie L. Cox
