Wingate by Wyndham Jacksonville South, Jacksonville

We booked not knowing much about Wingate hotels but we were attracted to the 24 hour hot tub because we keep some pretty odd hours. We arrived and checked in and were very happy until we went down to use the hot tub. It was closed and broke down to boot ! We went to the front desk and they said that it had broken down the day before and it was being worked on that day and SHOULD be up and running very soon. We had heard that at other hotels and had found it to be a routine excuse that never changed for weeks at a time. We were VERY disappointed. We left the hotel the first day to return that night and we found the hot tub open and running ! We were now SO excited but upon using it, we found that the temperature was so high we couldn't stand to use it for even 2 minutes. We thought maybe it needed some time to level out so we just went back to our room disappointed. We tried it again the next night to find the same thing. We went to the front desk and asked if they could turn down the temperature. We were told that it was set on 104 degrees and that it was not adjustable. We told them that we have a hot tub of our own and we were familar with what 104 degrees felt like and this was MUCH higher than that. They said we could talk to the general manager the next day if we wanted but there wasn't anything that could be done to turn it down. We forgot to say anything the next morning but that night we came back to find it back to a very comfortable temperature and we enjoyed it for the rest of our stay ! We understand routine problems and are DEFINATELY not complaining. We wanted to point out that they did listen to our concerns and they did act on them and resolve the problems in a timely manner. The room was great. There was a big stain on the carpet in between the two queen beds but it appeared to be clean.......just stained. The breakfast was nice. We missed biscuits and gravy but they had eggs, hash browns and sausage along with rolls, toast and cereal. The staff was wonderful ! Very helpful with everything we needed and all our questions! To sum up, our first, of hopefully many stays at Wingate Hotels was very satisfying and comfortable and we would definately reccommend Wingate to any of our friends and family.

We were in FL for unpleasant circumstances and chose the Wingate by driving by. We had drove 12 hours to get to Jacksonville and by the time we got to the Wingate had been up for almost 30 hours with no sleep. The Wingate staff were very helpful and polite. The hotel was extremely clean and quiet. The continential breakfast each morning was easy to access, plentiful, and good. Best of all the price was surprisingly affordable. Under the circumstances the stay was pleasant. We will be staying there again in a few weeks and this time we are looking forward to our visit to the Wingate and to Jacksonville. We highly recommend the Wingate if you are planning a trip to the Jacksonville area.

My boyfriend and I visited Jacksonville for a weekend and stayed at this hotel. This was the best hotel experience I've ever had, and I've been to quite a few. Everything about it was outstanding: service, ammenities, location, breakfast was awesome. We've decided wherever we go, we will check to see if there is a Wyndham first. It was very clean, and it everything was fantastic, especially for the price. Highly highly highly recommended.

Looks clean and nice on arrival very good service from desk and employess very courteous. Our room was clean but had high perfume odor if have allergies be aware too much for our liking (gave us a headache) The hottub was nice and very hot. Pool area was disappointing. Ad says indoor & outdoor pools. But was one pool with a plastic divider 1/2 pool was indoors other 1/2 was outdoors very unique but we thought there was 2 seperate pools. Pool was too cold to go in. It was in the 90's constantly during the month we were there to visit. We were disappointed we couldn't swim and there was only 1 pool. They had a large glass window looking outside from the pool area and there was bushes and about 25 spiders with webs varying in size. We did not like that at all! They have small exercise room with tv which is nice to have one but it overlooked the spa/pool area and that was shared by a glass window. We did not want to watch people workout while we were in the spa and pool area and while your were working out to be looked at by all. The beds are very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Standard continental breakfast saved by the famous waffle maker! They did have a machine for capacino's and in different flavors. That was very tasty! Our recommendation cut down on perfume smell in the rooms,clean out the spiders in pool area, heat up the pool, and don't mislead people by indicating indoor/outdoor pool.

I hated the fact that you cannot open the windows. It ruined the whole stay for me. I wanted to enjoy the warm humid Florida air and instead, all I could get was the recycled air of an office building. It was terrible. I did not realize the windows did not open until long after I checked in or I would have left, although it took 2 days for it too really get to me and ruin my stay.

This is the only hotel that I ever book when Im travelling to Jax. You can't beat the price for the ammenities that are important to me (i.e. high speed internet for free, free breakfast and clean rooms!). Im always very satisfied with the service and will continue to stay here in the future.

this is another Wingate near the airport. it's just as outstanding. It's located at exit 363 at airport road on I95. All 3 Wingates I've stayed in (so far) have been nothing but perfect, for the money.

I am a government traveler. The service was oustanding, as well as the staff. Easy to get to from the hi-way(95), and more than worth every penny spent. They make you really feel at home.

The staff was so very helpful and went out of their way. The facility is lovely, the breakfast great, the wireless good quality.
