Super 8 Athens, Athens

I have been traveling for 30 years and tonight was the first time I have ever been treated so rudely that I snapped back and told the guy just that!!! I was given a smoking room and I know we had asked for a non-smoking room. Being a cancer survivor from smoking its kind of unlikely that I would request a smoking room since giving up the unhealthy and stinky habit 9-years ago. This of course went on deft ears. Unfortunately, parents weekend at Ohio University. Everything is booked, he knows it and he has me by the you know what’s!!! I indicated that there must have been a mistake and this guy gets right in my face, gets immediately defensive, hands me a phone and says you want to confirm this with my 1-800 management? He did not even try to accommodate my request for a non-smoking room. I will go out of my way to warn anyone coming to Athens to avoid this hotel. Not only is the management rude and apparently untrusting of its cliental but it is also the last place out on the State Road strip and about a thousand miles from nowhere!! Avoid this hotel at all cost. IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!!!

My experience with this Super 8 hotel in Athens Ohio was one of the worst I have ever experienced. The manager pretty much verbally accousted me from the moment I checked in with my guidedog. He was rude, vulger, and totally unprofessional. After he finally understood that my dog was a service animal, he wanted to put me in a smoking room. The friends that I was with jumped in and again, he was completely rude. This man should not be in this business if he treats his customers in this manner.

Complained to management at 11:00 of people jumping off the bed up stairs all evening. Complained again at 11:30. Manager came to our room and called us dishonest complaining americans.He yelled and screamed for us to get out of his hotel.We had 2 small children. We had to wrap our youngest up in a blanket and carry her out. Our 9 year old was very scared. He refused to let us shut our door to change clothes.We are not partiers. We had a wedding to be in the next day. We had a legit complaint. We are pursuing this as far as it will go.

have never been treated in such an unfriendly manner. The managers family run the hotel and were so ignorant during our stay, I would never go back nor would I ever recomend the place to any one looking for a place to stay while in Athen. The hotel itself was clean and taken care of, but if you have unfreindly staff, it ruins your visit. They definately need a course in learning how to treat there guests. I gave it one star but it does not deserve any!

The manager and his wife are the rudest people I have dealt with and do not know to run a business. We visit Athens frequently but normally stay with friends. Since we had a wrestling event we decided to stay in the motel. The managers very rude from the time we checked into the place. They need to teach the housekeepers how to make a bed properly. Both sheets were tucked in together and when you pulled down the bed everything came off. I had to take the bed completely apart and make the bed before we could sleep in it. Very stingy with the towels, 1 towel, 1 washcloth and 1 hand towel. When they were asked for extra towels the managers wife slapped 1 towel and 1 wash cloth down. If there had been any rooms available in Athens I would have left. They are terrible people and will not listen to anything you say.

I will never stay here again! The manager verbally accosted me. He swore at me for checking out late (which, by the way, his wife told me was fine). Flipped me off and followed me into the parking lot to continue yelling at me! They have lost my business for the next four years.

Thinking that I would stay at a ecomony motel ($65)I checked in and when I had awakened after coughing all night from the dust filled rooms and the stained bed spreads I asked for a foom cahnge only to be treated as if I was some monster for asking. They " motel mangers" asked me to leave saying that they didn't need my buisness because I was a terrible person and then he proceeded to yell at me in the parking lot. That I was a bad and terrible person.. Now Just think about it...I paid to be insulted I was asked to leave because the rooms were dirty and I had booked a four night stay.... Pass this one up.. no one needs to be treated in that manner. They are there to create buiness but instead they run people off. They need to be trained... they are in a service industry and they are LEMONS for sure.. PS. They NEVER SMILED ONCE. MS M

From the time I made my reservation to the night I checked in I made it very clear that I was bringing a pet. Not once, but four times I explained that I had a dog with me. The second morning of my visit I was accosted by the manager,in the parking lot, and publicly accused of not declaring my pet to avoid paying him $5.00. The ignorant, uncaring attitude of the Super 8 manager cost his motel over 500 nights of my business over the next 4 years.
