Would recommend

The place has been remodeled since hurrican Dolly and is in great condition. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. They have a nice breakfast room some of the other chain motels do have a breakfast room or it seats four. Pool was clean and you are able to park in front of your room. Quite a few restaurants in walking distance and there is a Mexican restaurant owned by the same guy that owns Dirty Al's called Momasitas which is next door to the Super 8. Blackbeards is right across the street.

Horrible
By Lance, 11/30/08
strict rules, poor maid service, road noise, thin walls, room smells, poop in pool, but breakfast was good. Not pet friendly. The owner tried to kick my dog because he was on their grass. Extra fees were charged at checkout. Expect to pay more than what they say. Do not trust these people.

Don't Stay Here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/08
Please take my advice. Don't stay here! We made reservations at this Super 8, 2 weeks ahead of time. We got a room that was like a dungeon. There was no outside light, very strange area in a hallway. The beds had cellaphane on them, so we had terrible night sweats. The manager called us at 8:00am on Sunday to ask if our truck was blocking the driveway, he must have been calling every room, it was not us! The manager was rude! He said I could pay with cash on my way out, but charged my card anyway, without my permission! Not to mention, somebody put a tube of fake blood in our coffee pot! Take my advice please don't stay here!!!

What a dump
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/22/07
I'm at the Super 8 South Padre Island Super 8 right now. My room is dirty, it's noisy, the bedspreads have stains on them, the furniture in the room is beat up and very shabby looking. Everytime someone gets ice from the ice machine, it sounds like our wall is falling in. Do yourself a favor and keep looking. Take my advice and avoid this typical Super 8 dump at all costs!

A Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/28/05
This hotel was clean, rooms large, and staff friendly. The motel and pool area had a nice tropical decor that I rate as better than similar chain hotels in the area. If you want to walk to the beach, be aware the hotel is on the bay side of Padre Blvd - a 5 lane city street. Crossing it without using a crosswalk can be dangerous and there is no crosswalk nearby.

Great Super 8
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/16/05
By far the best Super 8 I have seen or stayed in. Rooms are large and clean and the place looked great. Manager is very friendly and I was told this is ranked number one in the chain for quality assurance in resort catagory and number one in the entire state of Texas.

Not Bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/05
The room was comfortable & clean and was fairly large for a budget hotel. The desk clerk told us there was a continental breakfast each morning, but we didn't bother to go, so I can't comment on that. The only problem I can think of was when I tried to get ice. The second floor ice machine did have any ice, so I had to go downstairs. Boo Hoo. Overall, I would say this place was better than I expected for a budget hotel. On a related note, I noticed that other hotel marquis were advertising rates much lower that what I paid here. We were there during the off-season, so I assume the hotels were competing for what little business there was. If you are going to South Padre during the off season, you may want to wait and pick-up a room on the cheap.
