The spectacular Burj Al Arab, designed to resemble the graceful sails of an Arabian dhow, soars to a height of 321 meters, dominating the Dubai coastline. The all-suite hotel is situated on a manmade island some 280 meters, offshore and is linked to the mainland by a slender, gently curving causeway. Each of the 202 suites is arranged over two floors and all with floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows and tranquil views of the sea. The highest standards of personal service are enhanced by private reception desks on every floor. In-suite check-in, a brigade of exclusive butlers that provide around the clock assistance and unrivalled attention never ceases to amaze our guests. These standards are further typified by the hotel's own fleet of Rolls-Royces and recently introduced luxury helicopter service, should our guests wish to experience their arrival at Dubai's landmark hotel from new heights. To dine at Burj Al Arab is an experience out of this world, with restaurants situated among the stars and below the sea.

What is up with this hotel??
By John, 09/07/09
Okay, I only spent 3 nights in this hotel alone for about 2,700 USD. I was supposed to meet a friend in Dubai, so I chose this hotel to get all fancy and feel special (for experience wise). Of course, I read on the Internet that this place was a 5 star hotel. I must give them 5 stars for both cleanliness and location (great view, I agree), but I was very disappointed at their services as well as the money value. On the second day, I started wondering if this was really worth the money. No, it didn't. Their food was overpriced and did not taste as good - they just looked fancy and luxurious. I had to spend about 90 or more USD per meal. Also, maybe it's just me but, I'm just a highschool student, so I guess the clerks might've thought that they didn't really need to pay attention to "kids". I'm a freakin customer too, I mean, they should still treat me like a VIP or something (I was expecting this after I read several reviews online). They were not as friendly as I expected them to be, moreover, they acted so slowly, the ice cream arrived approximately 2 and a half hours after I ordered them, and I ended up yelling at the guy. He NEVER apologized for being late, instead, he kept telling me all these excuses. I would've lost my temper if he rubbed his little fingers at me for a tip. I was fully aware of the fact that they're busy folks, but come on; I'm spending thousands of dollars in this place, and this really gives me the feeling that these folks are just here for money. However, I admit that I felt really special and ostentatious when I stayed at this hotel, and I recommend this hotel for people who are dying to invest their money in all sorts of lavish and frivolous things in this hotel.

The Best Hotel in Dubai ?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/08
I do not know what is going on with the once high star ranking Hotels of Jumeirah. In the first years they have done their pr quite good and like this was service and foof in their Hotels. Today it seems the only which is working very well is PR. Also the Burj Al Arab as Hotel is today a farce. Sometime you get the fealing that most of the service staff was trained for Mc Donald and not for a 5 star Hotel. This Hotel has mutated to a Profit Centre, it doesnt even care for frequent guests like us and we had the feeling that most of the former excellent staff members have left by special reasons. Complaints are not taken very seriously - they give you the feeling - but after all they dont care for it. The new appointed GM has before managed the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the result of this Jumeirah Beach Hotel today, let us not hope that under the new GM Burj Al Arab will recover to the old 7 star feeling.

Quite dissappointing..
By Fahed, 09/12/08
Having heard a lot about The Burj Al Arab, i was really disappointed when i went there.. the building is quite amazing on the outside, but not that great on the inside.. my first impression was, i wouldn't give it 7 stars.. The finishing and attention to detail is not as impressive as it should be, especially when you always read that The Burj is all about attention to the smallest detail.. we're organizing an event there for my company and the service is good but with not enough facilities to support it i'd say.. one great thing about the Burj was the panoramic elevator on the back side of the building that takes you all the way up to the Al Muntaha Sky View Restaurant, that was absolutely amazing.. the ride and the restaurant, wonderful view! they said the main idea when this was built is dining in the sky, and this is exactly how it feels! i didn't really like the idea of having those shops in the main lobby.. and we didn't get access to some areas.. areas that may really tell what the place is about.. But in the end i'd say.. i'd gladly pay $ 1000 per night to stay in a great hotel.. but definitely not the Burj... in Dubai, i'd choose the Mina al salam Madinat Jumerah, which offers great value for money att almost $ 300 per night.. Enjoy your stay

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/08
this hotel was really a good experience... it is for real the best in the world in terms of luxary and facilities. Good service and really luxarious with gold decorations all over the hotel and an under sea level resturant where you can enjoy the food while looking at the world of the aqua life under the sea.
