Maadi Hotel, Cairo

Cons: They say its rated as a 4 star by the Egyptian Tourist Board. In my opinion the guy who gave the ratings must be living in the slums of cairo. Compared to the slums of cairo it is a 2 star. And I have been to the slums of cairo many times. Cockroaches in the dining room, breakfast old and stale, waiters sneezing on food. No salt or pepper on table, Orange juice stale, salad bar 2 days old. Stinky rooms, noise all the time, evevators not working, no internet (have to pay for it, and extremly slow connection when you buy it), the front desk trying to zip guests at check out, smoking everywhere, TV 20 years old, broken remote with dead batteries. Bed sheets and blankets never changed, broken furniture as old as the pyramids, air condition vents dirty, carpets in the hallways stinks, missing lights in hallways, terrible old and stale food. Pros: close to other good hotels. I made the switch.
