Never Going Back
By A Yahoo! User, 09/24/09
The staff was friendly, however, the Motel 6 in Hammond, La was filthy. Upon arrival, one lamp was broken, there was mold on the shower curtain, the Refrigerator was not defrosted (heavy ice build up in freezer), food/drink stains on wall by trashcan, lamp stands/mounts and wall edges in bathroom was dusty, and dust and spiderwebs were between the closet and wall. We asked for a nonsmoking room, however, after looking behind the dresser, there were cigarettes and trash (old fork and old food wrappers and packages). After the maid "clean" the room the maid did not remove all the dirty towels and one of our food items were missing.

Love this motel!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/09
The Motel 6 is the best value for your money hands down!!! I stay there every year for the Rod Runs and bring my 2 dogs- they love it. It is clean, spacious, comfortable. The staff are so nice!!! They have a huge backyard to let your pets go play and potty!!!! It is the best spot to stay with pets!!!!!!!!! I would recommend this motel for everyone who is coming to visit Pigeon Forge, but especially those that travel with pets!! Close to everything!

Better than ever! by K. Webb of Tennessee
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/25/08
I can't recommend highly enough the Motel 6 on Henderson Chapel Road in Pigeon Forge, TN. I stayed there during the Spring Rod Run 2008 and my two night stay was so pleasurable, comfortable, and relaxing, that I stayed two extra nights. This was not my first stay at this motel, but I must say that everything now is so much better than any before. The relatively new management of Ronnie Daniels has proven to be a superior decision. The staff is wonderful, especially a gentleman named Junior, that is night auditor/front desk. I have had some health problems and he was so kind, courteous, and considerate to a couple special room requests. I must also add that Brandi, at the front desk, makes you feel welcome and doesn't mind going the extra mile in assisting guests. The housekeepers on my floor were friendly, smiling, spoke English, and cared that the rooms were clean. Although the rooms with two beds only have full size mattresses (no queens), they make you sleep like a baby!!! The shower is shaped in a modified triangle which gives you more room and the bathroom is a nice size. There is an outside area near the pool with grills and a covered swing for relaxing. The pool and whirlpool were clean and warm. The pool area is not cramped or cluttered and most of all....is open for the guests approximately 23 hours a day. (Only closed for an hour for cleaning in the early morning.) Last, but definiately not least...they allow your pet without questions about size, breed, and a million other questions that make you feel like you are being interogated! They seem to understand that for many of us...our pet is our best friend. They only ask that you inform them that you are bringing your pet along. The prices here are very affordable. It may not be a large lavish hotel, but it is definiately a great place to stay and well worth the money!!!!

Great for people bringing pets
By sweetnopichick, 03/15/06
My husband & I went with another couple to the Fall Rod Runs in 05 (we go every year). This time it was a last minute decision so rooms were scarce & prices were more than doubled. We were looking for seperate rooms but were unable to find any below $175 a night because we both had pets - large, bully-breed pets. As most of you know the larger the more $$ plus some breeds are not allowed. I get a Pigeon Forge planner every year which has all hotels & #'s/locations listed (highly recommened by-the-way). I called every # listed that accepted pets & finally decided on Motel 6 because their rooms were under $100 a night plus the didn't charge extra for pets-no matter the size. They only had 1 room left & it was tiny for 2 couples & 2 large dogs but beyond that it was very clean & the bathroom was fairly spacious. The yard around back (for "potty") was clean & spacious too - was near a slightly traveled road however not a problem for dogs on a leash. The pool was smaller than expected but again, very clean, etc. The grounds were maintained nice & well gardened. There was also a laundrymat inside and plenty of snack & drink machines. A great place to stay for the price. Location is off the mainstreet but close enough for major convenience. Plus the staff was receptive to our larger dogs & non-judgemental to their bully breed which is a problem we have encountered many many other places. We actually liked it so much we're staying there again for Spring 06 Rod Runs!! (& bringing the dogs!!)
