I will never stay at a Red Roof Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/07
I had made reservations at the Red Roof Inn for Friday, October 19 thru Wednesday, October 24th. We arrived approximately 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning, the Lobby was very clean and updated. I had noticed a stall odor on the lst floor as we approached the elevator as we reach our floor the odor lingered. Our room was on 3rd floor and I was totally surprised at how dingy, dark, and gloomy this room was. I opened the drapes and the glass was dirty. I was under the impression that photos don't lie, but to compare the photo to the room we slept in was a hugh disappointment. We had traveled 15 hours, tired, disgusted. We spent the night. But Saturday morning we searched for another hotel where we could feel comfortable. We did find another clean hotel, but it was not available until Sunday after 3:00. So we spent one more night in that depressing room. I have mentioned to several people about the condition of this room and how we was totally 100% dissatisfied. We will never visit any Red Roof Inns. This Inn needs to be upgraded.

blocked data ports
By BETNROG, 01/23/07
November 06, I spent four days/nights. I brought along my laptop computer, so that I could do a little work online, they advertise dataports, of course you can always purchase a wireless connection, if you need the high speed. Using the data port, I could not connect to my ISP, busy signal, using the motel phone I dialed my ISP again busy signal. Using my cell phone, called my ISP, connection. I went to the front desk complained, about not being able to connect, they offered to sell me a day pass ($10.00) with T-Mobile wireless. I wanted my data port. Management verbally stated that the data ports was blocked by T-Mobile. I wrote a letter of complaint to Accor North America, their reply "we were unable to to resolve your situation", no sorry for your inconvinence, we will correct the problem.

Clean and affordable.
By kw_lakecity, 04/30/06
I like the Red Roof chain. It's always been clean and friendly and I look for these when I'm staying out of town. This particular Red Roof is about 12 miles from the heart of Savannah so be prepared to drive a bit if you stay here. Otherwise the price was right and the service was good.

Excellent Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/06
My wife and I have become fans of Red Roof Inns in general. This one is no exception. We spent our first night free on a Free Night Certificate, earned after several Red Roof stays across the country. Check in was with no questions asked. The second day we upgraded to a King Suite at an unbelilevable rate of less than $80. The room is very clean and includes a Jacuzzi, fridge, microwave and wet bar. We have stayed at perhaps the best Savannah Hotel (River Street Inn) and perhaps the lowest priced (but nice) Motel--Motel 6, Richmond Hill. This is a nice compromise. It is closer to downtown Savannah than our common stop at Motel 6, but it is very affordable and clean. The one "drawback": They advertise wireless internet with T Mobile. But it isn't free. You have to subscribe at a cost. Funny thing, though, is that I am writing this while linked up with a wireless connection. I am sitting by the window of my room and am linked to the Howard Johnsons' free and open wireless connection! If you are in the area to visit Savannah, this is a good place to stay. If you are just traveling through the area--perhaps on the way to Florida--and just want an overnight stay at a clean but inexpensive place, have a look at Motel 6-Richmond Hill. (I have a positive review on that Motel posted on this site.)

Best hotel for the price!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/03/05
when i was looking for a hotel in the savannah area i was looking for a hotel in a good part of town. i found the review of this hotel and was pleased so i booked it. When we arrived there we saw it was placed in with many other hotels (great sign)and when going inside the staff was very friendly. The rooms were very nice (no coffee maker in the rooms, only disappointment) and there are many restaurants around the hotel. If i ever return to savannah, this is where I will stay again!

This was a really great hotel. It was cheaper than the others in the area. This hotel was in a great place and easy to find. It was also very clean. I reccommend this hotel to anyone!
