We stayed in a King size room. The only complaint was the pillows - they were way too small for people used to king size pillows. We will bring our own next time. The room was clean, the service was friendly and prompt, the room seemed to be soundproof compared to other rooms we've had in other hotels in the past, and the restaurant was adequate for our needs. We were looking for a hotel for our son's wedding next year and we think this will be the place.
 
 
 
 
 
Two miles from Elgin line to downtown

Pros: Nice value for $90. Clean rooms with good soundproofing. Comfortable beds. Pleasant restaurant/bar downstairs. Two miles to the Amtrak train in to Chicago (55 minute ride to Union station). Night desk staff very pleasant, though a bit slow at check-in. Cons: Public internet computer did not work the entire stay. Upon asking manager the first day, he gave the virus excuse and did not seem concerned. Three days later, still down.

Wonderful

This hotel was great. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and got held up in O'Hare airport on our way to Denver due to weather or whatever they wanted to say. Anyway so we got a cab to this hotel and stayed. It was great service and a wonderful room. The hotub took away all of our troubles. The bathroom was beautiful. Disappointing!

The appearance of the hotel was a mess when I checked in. My room was clean, but the lobby, elevators and halls were a mess. The service for breakfast was very slow even though we were the only ones there at the time. We were seated close enough to the kitchen door to hear the employees talking as they used profanities. The manager of the hotel restaurant was rude. There are other hotels in the area (Super 8) that I would recommend before I would recommend staying at this particular Holiday Inn. Overall, my stay was very disapointing!

still good even with a name change

i stayed there when it was the crowne plaza and enjoyed the stay...so much that i stayed there a couple of weeks later...they remembered me and had the water just the way that i liked it...the staff was friendly and i could take short trips to the surrounding areas with ease...plan to be back some day

Business Trip with Panasonic

Rooms are great, pool, whirlpool and excersize facilities very good. I did not try the restaurant, but assume it matches most Bennigans. The biggest down fall is the lack of room high speed internet connections. For a modest cost they could go wifi. However, there is a free office center but only one computer with a DSL connection. It tends to be a bit slow, but faster than using the data ports in the room. Based on my wait time to get on the machine (I frequently went to the room to use a dial up service) they need at least two more computers and a couple of DSL connections in the room. The free printer and scanner is good. Be prepared to do your own trouble shooting outside of normal office hours.
