Clean and comfortable, but.....
stayed there in the spring of 2003 for the bi-annual Chiller Convention next door. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a full-functioning kitchen.
But on my first night of staying, the toilet had burst after I'd flushed it, and I was promptly moved to another room. Early the next morning, I got a call from the hotel owner (Raphael) saying that I had to foot the bill, which was going to come to nearly $300. I told the hotel staff that I'd like some qualified professionals to investigate the incident before I handed them over the check, because I was convinced that it was faulty plumbing that was the culprit (the john was steaming after it burst, indicating that it was full of hot water, which isn't supposed to happen). Of course, since the investigation took place after I'd returned home, I had no way of really knowing if there ever really was an "investigation"--probably not. I had no choice but to pay the tab. Needless to say, I'll probably be shacking up at the nearby Sheraton the next time I go to Chiller.
