i wouldn't stay here again
By golfgrll, 1/2/10
the room needs better soundproofing to block the noise. there was smoke in the room too. there was bad food and bad service. the hallway had a bad odor and there was mold too. there was stains on the towels cigs holes of blankets. there is a smear on the mirror. the floor looked liked it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. i wouldn't stay here again.

Better than the full-scale Holiday Inns
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/09
We had 2 grandparents, 2 parents and one child in our party and we had a GREAT time at the Holiday Inn Express Saco! By far, it was better than a Holiday Inn I stayed at in northern Maine. The staff were very friendly, but not overly so. Now to be fair, because of my past experience with HI, I called a different hotel. However, they hung up on me when I told them I was researching for a hotel room. HIExpress' staff was SO easy to talk to, even though I was calling for info, that they won this customer over and will return often! And yes, the breakfast bar is very good because it rotates the hot dishes and the cinnamon rolls are very tasty! The rooms are clean, quiet and roomy at a reasonable price! What more could you ask for?

It's NOT bad...
By JENNY GIRL, 7/26/06
What I liked...the breakfast bar was THE best on our entire trip (those cinnamon rolls are worth the weight gain), the showers were very nice, the pool was VERY nice (and heated) and the staff was pleasant and VERY accomodating. What I didn't like...the parking lot is just ridiculous! It isn't continuous and if you enter one way you must exit that way and can't get to the other side unless you want to do a "lawn job." The rooms weren't that clean to begin with and then room service did not come by (the hotel staff DID come up and take our trash and provide clean towels). The beds were NOT nice at all. The location is nice...but tricky...and by a toll road which means...if you get lost and confused...have PLENTY OF SPARE CHANGE (I think I went through that thing at least 5 times in one day trying to figure it out)! All-in-all I think the bad and the good together made it an average stay. It is SUPER close to Portland! And make sure you go to the Tourism Bureau (they are SOOOOO great).
