Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/1/10
I made a confirmed reservation on July 11, 2010 for a suite with two queen sized beds and pull out sofa for my husband, myself, my daughter and her fiance. My husband and I were to share the two bedroom and my daughter's fiance was to use the pull out couch. I received a reservation reminder via email 5 days before my expected arrival. Therefore, I thought all was good. We were traveling from No. Ca. to Arcadia in order to move them into an apartment the next day. Upon arrival at 2:20 in the afternoon, I was greeted with this comment "We do not have any more queen size rooms available" I asked how that could be due to my having a confirmed reservation and she just shrugged and said that they overbooked and folks stayed longer than expected. And then I was told...sorry. I looked at her incredulously. She told me that they had a king size bed and I told her that would not work. So I asked if she knew of any other hotel that had availability and instead of offering to call the Marriot down the street or call any of the other hotels, she just said that she heard that the Embassy Suites next door had some rooms that morning. As I walked out, she asked if I wanted my reservation cancelled!!! Unreal...SHE was the one who refused to honor my reservation and SHE was asking me if I wanted the reservation cancelled?! I will NEVER go back here and will consider a Marriot LAST when I make future reservations. I travel quite a bit and have never had this experience....not even in Europe!
