Almost a Nightmare far from a dream
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/19/09
No complaints about the staff very friendly however, that does not make a great stay! Where should I start how about with the NASTY comforter's I had on my bed 2 times I had to ask for a new one. 1st one looked like it had old blood stains on it and 2nd one had huge yellow stains all over it! No thats just unacceptable and gross! Our shower had a leak, we missed our dinner reservation because we had 2 workers in our room for over an hour we were not able to shower or change. Then they said they would move us but they had no other rooms! the handles kept falling off the dresser. There is more but I am just tried of writting about it. Just won't EVER go back!

Very Nice Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/10/09
Everything was great except for the older morning concierge was snooty. I would go back however, because everyone else there was very nice.

Bad experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/04/08
Had to wait 3 hours before our room was ready. Checked finally after 6pm to find the A/C was stuck at 60 degrees. The front desk sent someone up to tell us they could not fix it. We could hear lots of noise from other rooms and the hall. Combined with big mold patches in the shower and worn looking furniture we checked out the next morning and went to the Watermark. The Watermark saved our vacation after the Westin nearly ruined it.

horrible stay
By michaelp, 06/29/08
we took the children down to San Antonio for a weekend stay .I was qouted one price and when we got there they changed the price. We were to have two adjoining rooms on the river side they gave us two rooms one on the street side and one on river side with no balcony which when we made reservation we had asked for the presidential suite with a balcony.the bedroom next to the river was suppose to have two beds it only had one they said they would bring us a pullout which we said that would be fine ,they never did bring it.The valet parking took 45 minutes to get my vehicle .I filled out a comment card when we left and expressed how disappointed we were with the hotel and staff. The manager called me and expressed how awful he felt for his staff letting us down and I commented when we pay that kind of money we expect to get what we pay for and that we wouldn't stay there ever again,he asked us to come back and stay on them the next time ,he sent me a vocher and he told me that he would be the one who would take care of everything for us ,so we are going back and I will repost how well it is or how bad it is after our next stay.

Great hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/05/08
Great hotel. Located on "quiet" side of riverwalk(beautiful), but only about a block to walk to the more "festive" part of the riverwalk. Junior suite with river view is great...found online deal. Flat screen tv, huge bathroom and french doors open to small balconey overlooking riverwalk. Also stayed in regular room overlooking the street which I found a little loud with cars/garbage truck etc. So, either way I'd go for river view. Pool area is small and part of the day the chairs in complete shade. Overall I loved the Westin! Great place to unwind and relax, yet close enough to walk to the all parts of town. Will stay here anytime in San Antonio. Easy walk to convention center as well.

business travel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/26/08
The service was excellent. The room was well-decorated and the Heavenly bedding was heavenly! The hotel is on the riverwalk, closer to the quieter end. But within a 10-minute walk, you're in the middle of all the action. Free wireless is available in the lobby, however, it's $10.95 per 24 hours of use in your room. You will get 1 free bottle of water during your entire stay so bring water unless you were on business travel like me. The daily delivery of the USA Today was a plus. We were told opponents of the Spurs stayed here and sure enough, I met some Cleveland Cavaliers. I would visit again but not for personal travel. I have stayed at the Drury across the street for $50 less, hot breakfast, and free Wi-Fi.

Wow
By A, 10/25/07
I really enjoyed my stay here. I came into town for the Texas State Floral Convention in 2006.It was great this is just a beautiful hotel and what made it great for me was the river walk I love the water what can I say. The service was great the in house restaurant is excellent. At first I thought for $289.00 a night it was a little much but once I made it to my room it was truly worth it. This is a great hotel for whatever you are looking for relaxation, romance, and convention or just getting away with the family it is within walking distance of the hard rock cafe and many other exciting sites.

Can't wait to go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/07
I absolutely LOVED the hotel. I came down with my church for the youth gathering last summer and the hotel made the trip just that much better. It had a central location, service was excellent, and the rooms were very clean- everything i could ask for in a hotel and i cant not wait to come back for another visit!!

FABULOUS HOTEL : WE WILL BE BACK!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/06
WE PICKED THE WESTIN RIVERWALK BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE QUIETER SIDE OF THE RIVERWALK, THE PILLOWTOP MATTRESS AND THE 3RD NITE FREE STAY. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! THE STAFF WAS VERY NICE, SEVERAL STOPPED ME WHEN WANDERING THRU THE HOTEL LOBBY TO ASK IF I NEEDED ANYTHING OR GAVE ME DIRECTIONS TO POINTS OF INTEREST. UPON CHECK IN WE WERE GIVEN A VOUCHER FOR DRINKS WHILE OUR ROOM WAS BEING FINISHED. WE HAD A JUNIOR SUITE WITH A BALCONY AND CONNECTING ROOM FOR OUR DAUGHTER OVERLOOKING THE RIVERWALK. IT WAS CLEAN, COMFORTABLE AND NICELY APPOINTED.THE VERY LARGE BATHROOMS WERE TOO DIE FOR! LARGE GARDEN TUB WITH SEPERATE GLASS SHOWER AND A MAKEUP MIRROR. THE STAFF AGAIN CATERED TO ALL OUR NEEDS BRINGING US EXTRA WATER AND TOWELS. ROOM SERVICE WAS QUICK AND HOT. THEY NICELY SET UP BREAKFAST ON THE TERRACE FOR US. YOU CAN WALK OUT DIRECTLY TO THE RIVERWALK WHICH WAS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF THE ALAMO, RIVERCENTER MALL, AND RESTURANTS ON THE RIVER. DURING THE AFTERNOON THEY HAVE TEA TIME WITH WONDERFUL WATERMELON OR CANTELOPE JUICE, COOKIES AND A GUITARIST FOR LOVELY BACKGROUND MUSIC WHILE WE SAT ON THE VERANDA. THE RESTURANT IN THE HOTEL WAS GREAT. VERY GOOD FOOD AND ELEGANT. AGAIN AND I AM SORRY IF I SAY THIS TOO OFTEN BUT THE STAFF WAS EXCELLENT IN THEIR ATTENTIVNESS. WE STAYED FOR 3 DAYS AND FELT LIKE WE WERE PAMPERED THE WHOLE TIME. WE WILL DEFINATLY STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN! IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, GREAT LOCATION AND ROOMS. WE HAD A WONDERFUL STAY AND THERE IS NOTHING BAD I CAN SAY ABOUT THE HOTEL. THE VALET PARKING WAS A LITTLE PRICEY AT 25.00 PER DAY BUT CONVIENENT. HINT: WHEN CHECKING OUT, AT CLOSE TO CHECKOUT TIME IT IS HECTIC TO GET YOUR CAR. CALL DOWN AHEAD OF TIME AND THEY ARE NICE TO GIVE US BOTTLED WATER WHILE WE WAITED. FANTASTIC HOTEL! AAA+++ PS: WE NOTICED THAT THIS IS ALSO A PET FRIENDLY HOTEL WHICH WAS CUTE TO SEE A FEW PAMPERED PETS BEING WALKED AROUND!
