Great Hotel for a Girls Weekend Out
By ,
We booked a Fri/Sat night stay online for a good price. The staff, especially the concierge, was very professional and helpful. The room was great! We got a city view, since we weren't going to be spending beaucoups of time inside. We had no problem with the location - exit the rear of the hotel and you're right on the river. Turn left and keep walking - within 5 minutes you are at La Villita and the commercial portion of the Paseo del Rio. The only sticky wicket is parking. The hotel does not have its own on-site parking. There is a public garage and a surface lot across the street. We parked the van in the surface lot on Friday and left it there (we walked everywhere!) until we departed on Sunday. $40 total. Valet parking is available for a flat $30 a day. There are surface lots within walking distance that are a little more affordable. Not a deal breaker but good to know in advance. We really enjoyed breakfast at the hotel. We didn't spring for the buffet but ordered off the Superfoods Menu. We spent a very leisurely meal at our table outside next to the river. All in all, I give it thumbs waaay up and five stars.

ROOM WHAT NOT SERVICE
By ,
Super hot room- room service told us 45 minutes for delivery & 45 minutes later tell us they were out of what we ordered. We asked for somehting else at the same price since they didn't have what we wanted - waited to speak to a manager for 15 minutes to be told the manager was to busy - to then being told they would sell us the item at the same price RRRRRRR- then the ended up bringing what we originally ordered.

Very Nice Hotel
By ,
Everything was great except for the older morning concierge was snooty. I would go back however, because everyone else there was very nice.

Bad experience
By ,
Had to wait 3 hours before our room was ready. Checked finally after 6pm to find the A/C was stuck at 60 degrees. The front desk sent someone up to tell us they could not fix it. We could hear lots of noise from other rooms and the hall. Combined with big mold patches in the shower and worn looking furniture we checked out the next morning and went to the Watermark. The Watermark saved our vacation after the Westin nearly ruined it.

horrible stay
By ,
we took the children down to San Antonio for a weekend stay .I was qouted one price and when we got there they changed the price. We were to have two adjoining rooms on the river side they gave us two rooms one on the street side and one on river side with no balcony which when we made reservation we had asked for the presidential suite with a balcony.the bedroom next to the river was suppose to have two beds it only had one they said they would bring us a pullout which we said that would be fine ,they never did bring it.The valet parking took 45 minutes to get my vehicle .I filled out a comment card when we left and expressed how disappointed we were with the hotel and staff. The manager called me and expressed how awful he felt for his staff letting us down and I commented when we pay that kind of money we expect to get what we pay for and that we wouldn't stay there ever again,he asked us to come back and stay on them the next time ,he sent me a vocher and he told me that he would be the one who would take care of everything for us ,so we are going back and I will repost how well it is or how bad it is after our next stay.

Great hotel
By ,
Great hotel. Located on "quiet" side of riverwalk(beautiful), but only about a block to walk to the more "festive" part of the riverwalk. Junior suite with river view is great...found online deal. Flat screen tv, huge bathroom and french doors open to small balconey overlooking riverwalk. Also stayed in regular room overlooking the street which I found a little loud with cars/garbage truck etc. So, either way I'd go for river view. Pool area is small and part of the day the chairs in complete shade. Overall I loved the Westin! Great place to unwind and relax, yet close enough to walk to the all parts of town. Will stay here anytime in San Antonio. Easy walk to convention center as well.

business travel
By ,
The service was excellent. The room was well-decorated and the Heavenly bedding was heavenly! The hotel is on the riverwalk, closer to the quieter end. But within a 10-minute walk, you're in the middle of all the action. Free wireless is available in the lobby, however, it's $10.95 per 24 hours of use in your room. You will get 1 free bottle of water during your entire stay so bring water unless you were on business travel like me. The daily delivery of the USA Today was a plus. We were told opponents of the Spurs stayed here and sure enough, I met some Cleveland Cavaliers. I would visit again but not for personal travel. I have stayed at the Drury across the street for $50 less, hot breakfast, and free Wi-Fi.

Wow
By ,
I really enjoyed my stay here. I came into town for the Texas State Floral Convention in 2006.It was great this is just a beautiful hotel and what made it great for me was the river walk I love the water what can I say. The service was great the in house restaurant is excellent. At first I thought for $289.00 a night it was a little much but once I made it to my room it was truly worth it. This is a great hotel for whatever you are looking for relaxation, romance, and convention or just getting away with the family it is within walking distance of the hard rock cafe and many other exciting sites.
