Ok, while I'm not one to typically complain about a hotel, I thought it would be helpful for fellow travelers to hear the following few points before booking a room here (which could be fine): Our experience: 1. The breakfast buffett (which is not included with the room) was not restocked during the one time we ate there, thus you had 20 people fighting for a bowl of cold cereal and yogurt; 2. In the summer, Charleston is hot and the air conditioning system in this hotel needs some serious attention. Several nights our room was hot a fire. 3. Generally overall below average service. All in all, for the money I'm not saying that I'd never stay here again, but do consider the points noted above before booking.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful city of Charleston without breaking the bank. The hotel was exceptional in service. Staff truly wonderful, friendly, and helpful from the front desk housekeeping to the dining room. The bedding is not the plushness you enjoy at other Marriott properties, but the warm hot buffet breakfast and "free" internet serivce make up the difference. It's worth the 10-15 minute drive to downtown and less than 5 minute drive to the Tanger outlet. I definitely will stay there again in the future.
