Your New Home...Away From Home
Besides a late night arrival resulting in a 10 minute wait for me and my significant other to be let in to the hotel lobby, our short stay at the Homewood Suites in Farmington was exceptional. The lobby itself appeared grand, yet casual, very similar to a two-story great room found in many larger homes. A warm fireplace and richly colored furniture awaited us in the lobby as sat down to enjoy the holiday (that's right, not only Christmas, but holiday) decorations around the "living room" area. A kitchen (which the next morning was filled with a very decent buffet) also similar to that of a normal home, with an island and small dining area also grace the large interior space. As for our room (1 bedroom king suite), the decor was very adequate, the space was abundant, and the furniture and fabrics were all very upscale. The layout was very similar to the modern day 1 bedroom apartments you find in the "luxury apartment" complexes. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the shades provided for extreme darkness in the morning. Two TV's and phones (not necessary at all, but a nice touch) complimented the room, and everything else was neatly displayed and at an arms reach, for our convenience. The location is very quiet, yet easily accessible from I-84. Originally from the area myself, I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area, whether for one night, or several. My significant other decided that this was the best of the Hilton hotels we have stayed in (besides the Conrad). I still haven't made my decision, but its rank, if not first, is second.
