Worst Hotel on Everything!

I liked how it looked from the Outside. Unfortunately I was booked there for the entire month of October 2008 on business. I actually drove 600 miles home on weekends to get away from the filth. Manager clueless, staff non exsistant, had to clean my own room in order to stay the last week because i was told they were booked and the housekeeper had quit. I changed my linens and vacuumed my room and cleaned the food left in the Fridge by the previous guest myself. When I spoke with the manager she told me "What do you want me to do about it? You are a direct bill so we have already charged your credit card. There is nothing I can do about my staff just up and quitting." They ran out of plastic ware for the continental breakfast- ever try and eat cereal with a fork? When staff was asked for some i was told that someone forgot to order them and there was no money in the budget for them to run across the street and buy some at the store.
The first room I stayed in for a week- smelled so bad i had to prop my window open in order to breath- smelled like some animal had been doing its business for a long time on the carpets- and no one ever cleaned them. -when I asked to switch rooms I was told they were completely booked. The second week actually was not bad- at least the room did not stink- and the bed was clean the room had been cleaned I even stayed that weekend-The last week was the worst. Had to clean own room etc.. no silverware, hotel just dirty. Side and back doors to the hotel were always propped open day and night which lead to the stairwell to the rooms. I felt very unsafe all the time. My room door also looked like it had been kicked in as it was dented and off the frame slightly - you really had to slam the door in order for it to close and latch. Scary!!
The only person in that hotel the entire month that was worth anything is the college age girl with blond hair (wish i remembered her name) they had working the front desk by herself each night. She was very pleasant and tried her hardest to make everything a little better- it was unfortunate that the manager did not provide her with the basic things a hotels needs to have to make its customers comfortable. Do Not stay here- you wont be welcome or satisfied with anything. I have stayed in better no star motels in bad neighborhoods than this so called Hotel. Who ever rated this as a nice place clearly either works there or never stayed there. Wish i had made my reservations at the comfort inn.
