Baymont Inn and Suites Dunn, Dunn

I was very disappointed, to say the least, at our recent stay here. We made our reservations for multiple rooms over a month ago. We had confirmed reservations but when we arrived they did not have the rooms we reserved. Instead of a King Smoking room, I was told I was getting a non-smoking, 2 dbl bed room because they had guests who extended their stay. Relatives who had a confirmed first floor room (for someone handicapped who could not do stairs) had to go to another hotel since their room had also been given away for the same reason and there were no first floor rooms available. A confirmed reservation, with card, means you pay for that room even if you don't show up. If someone wants to extend, and their room is confirmed by another, they are given the option of changing to a different room. The second problem was with the cleanliness of the rooms themselves. My room, especially the beds, smelled very musty. It was not the sheets but the matress or matress cover itself! The bathroom had a leak that made the floor wet when we arrived - I had to put the bath mat down to use the bathroom. The room my son and daughter-in-law got still had public hair in the bath area, including on the ice bucket that they wanted to use. There was also makeup on the pillowcases. While I was at the window trying to deal with this, the man behind me was back for the 2nd time, His pillow cases had to be changed because of makeup on them and he was now back trying to get towels for his room. Even after having them call the manager we received no compensation for any of this. While waiting for them to handle our reservation, I watched as they ran my card multiple times and I will be keeping a daily check on my account now looking for multiple charges. I don't know if they actually did that or were having a problem with their machine but I am not taking the chance after this visit. We made resservations early to be sure that we could all stay at the same place. Those not familiar with the area would be following those who were to an event early the next morning. The hotel the others had to find at the last minute made that not possible and we had to rely on phone calls while driving to find our way to them. Jameson Inns used to have a good reputation but this one has ruined it for many people. I would never stay there again and will not recommend it to anyone.
