horrible place to stay
Some people might think that the things that i'm about to say are irrelevant, but I tell you these things because I am a marriott Elite member. Which means i stay at Marriott hotels alot. And i'm not trying to say that all the staff memebers are bad, there are a couple who are very kind and helpful. I've been staying at this perticular hotel for over a year, and would like to share with you just a few of the things that have happened to my family. We were here less that a week and my son fell and needed to get stitches. Now normally this wouldn't be a big deal to me, but the cut was half an inch from his eyeball. When i went to the office for directions to the nearest ER, i got alot of "um, i'm not sure where that would be" and "hey man, where's the nearest ER" as the front desk clerk asked another guest. We were sent with out the proper paper work, so I end up having to pay for it out of my own pocket ($6,000). I never got to fill out an incident report, but when i called corporate, i was told that one had been filled out, and that i had signed it.
Then this summer i was hit by a car in the parking lot, nothing too serious. Just a little bruise on my thigh and forearm. The problem with it was that my 4 year old son was just inches from being hit himself. There are alot of children staying in this hotel and no signs asking people to slow down. When it was brought to the attention of management, i was told that they were going to put up signs and install speed bumps, that was 3 months ago and it still hasn't happened.
The rooms are decent, if you get one that wasn't perviously occupied but someone with pets, since the cleaning staff does not steam clean the rooms between guests. It's not uncommon for the staff to leave garbage in the the hallway on the weekends. Unfortuantely this being a temperate climate, garbage also attracts rodents. I have seen atleast one large rat in the hallway, and a small black mouse in my suite.
So if your looking for a place that allows pets, the ones you brought with you, and the kind that fit under your door. Then stay at this hotel. If your looking for a safe place for your family to stay, and have a good time, then check out one of the other Marriot brands. The Courtyards are beautiful, and about the same price per night.
