THEY SHOULD TAKE A TENT ON VACATION IF THATS WHAT THEY WANT!!! ON ONE OF MY STAYS I HEARD A WOMAN GIVING THE DESK CLERK A HARD TIME ABOUT ROAD NOISE ,WANTING A DISCOUNT, HER ROOM WAS BESIDE MINE, SO I KNOW SHE WAS LYING. THESE PEOPLE DISGUST ME, WANTING A FREE RIDE,OR SHOULD I SAY FREE STAY.....

never again you must read before staying
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/08
while staying at this hotel the toilet in our room stopped up and was threatening to overflow we called the front desk so that it could be fixed before it flooded our room we were told to come get a plunger and fix it ourselves. Appaled that we were being asked to fix the hotels toilet we called again to make sure we heard right and again we were told to come get the plunger and the lady at the front desk was extremely rude. so we had to call the corporate headquarters of best western who had to call the hotle twice before they would fix the toilet. With the animosity we had been shown we were uncomfortable staying there and switched hotels Best western after being pressured by corporate offered us 50% back on the room but when we went to pick up our cash(we had paid cash for the room) the front desk woman told us corporate called back and instructed her not to give us our money. this sounded very funny so we called corporate and found that since we had complained about the service she had a point put on her record she had called corporate back telling them that she would not give us back our money unless they removed this point from her record. she called again and told them we refused the refund anyhow we were expectedby this hotel to maintain the plumbing so unless your ready to be lied to cheated and do the hotels maintainace work stay somewhere else

Great for the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/9/07
We just got back from a short trip to The Smokies. We had no hotel reservations anywhere, just traveling for relaxation. We liked the looks of The Greenbriar, so we stopped. The desk clerk was very cheerful and answered all our questions. The room was abit musty, but aired out quickly. The bathroom was small, but very clean. There was plenty of hot water, soap and shampoo. Plus there was a small fridge, ironing board and hair dryer. The in room coffee was not good! Their breakfast room was very clean and cheery. The staff person there was constantly filling the containers, and cleaning the tables. The coffee there was great, as was the food. Loved the bear shaped waffles and the muffins. The parking lot was a bit small, especially for those of us with larger trucks. Overall, would stay there again!

Digusted
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/12/07
We never stayed here but had reservations but had car trouble in North Carolina and called after 6:00 PM to cancel. We were not told that their policy is if you call after 6 you are charged anyway. So we were shocked when we got our statement and was charged $198.00 for 2 rooms. We called and were told there was nothing they could do. I wrote to Best Western and was told it would stand as that was their policy. We will never use Best Western in our travels again.

Noise and Dirt
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/07
A terrible motel, located right next to the main four lane highway. Exhaust fumes and highway noise all day and all night. This place is very old and in need of a major renovation. Nothing worked in our rooms, unreal. TV was busted, toilet broken, air conditioner did not work, etc. The sheets on the bed smelled and were stained. Tiny rooms and a tiny parking lot, with the situation made worse, because this motel always has large tour bus groups staying here. It is impossible to eat breakfast, because the tour bus groups fill up the breakfast room and then will not move out to allow others to eat. The swimming pool was full of floating trash. The staff here is rude and nasty. What a dump. Stay some where else, there are many other motels in town.

Noise From Highway
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/29/07
This old style motel sits very close to the main highway that goes through this resort area. Guests staying here can expect to hear highway noise and smell exhaust fumes for their entire stay. Actually, the entire property reminds me of the old 1950s style highway motels, complete with the super tiny rooms. The loud air conditioning unit had a strong moldy mildew smell, which smelled up the entire tiny room. Every time another guest closed their room door the vibrations and sound could be heard and felt for a dozen rooms in each direction, above & below. The staff has a terrible attitude. We could not get in to eat breakfast, because a tour group consisting of two large buses filled up the breakfast room the entire time breakfast was served. The carpet in our room was so filthy and threadbare that we kept our shoes on. What an awful awful place.

Run Down and Very Dirty
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/20/07
Location is terrible, very noisy, right next to the main 4-lane through this resort area. Noise all night from traffic, plus this 60s style motel had paper thin walls. Every time someone closed the door to their room, you could hear it. Rooms are very small and had an awful odor. TV, air-conditioning, shower, nothing worked properly in the room. The manager has a nasty attitude toward everyone. They advertise wireless internet service, but it is only provided in about ten rooms, and you are never told this when you make a reservation. Housekeeping starts cleaning rooms at daybreak, and they ignore Do Not Disturb signs. They knock loudly on all doors and shout back and forth to each other. Breakfast was terrible. Parking lot is so tiny that it is difficult to turn around. Do not waste your money here.

Tiny Rooms Rude Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/10/07
Avoid the Best Western Greenbrier. I don't know who is giving this place the high ratings I see here, because this motel is a terrible place with a very rude staff and manager. There is no wireless internet, contrary to their advertising. The motel is very old, so the rooms are in poor shape and smell. The rooms open outward to a parking lot that literally starts three feet outside your door. The motel is within about 20 yards of the busiest parkway in Pigeon Forge, which results in highway noise all night long. Housekeeping starts banging on all room doors at 6 a.m., yelling and bumping carts and trash cans. The room doors and walls are paper thin, so by 7 a.m. you can forget sleeping anymore, due to car engines starting and housekeeping screaming to each other. The manager and owner are clueless and could care less. The rooms are very tiny, sort of like a 1950s motel room. What a dump!

Horrible Run Down
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/06
Very noisy location. The motel sits within a few feet of the major Pigeon Forge parkway, which results in vehicle noise day and night. Filthy swimming pool. Rooms are moldy, with a mildew spell. Air conditioning is old and does not work. The staff and owner manager are very rude people. There is no high speed internet service, which makes their advertising an outright lie. Avoid this place. It is a dump. Good reviews here must have been written by the management.
