Super 8 Ferndale Bellingham Area, Ferndale

Avoid at all cost!! My husband and I were recently in Bellingham/Ferndale area and had previously made a reservation to stay at this Super 8. Upon arrival we found our reservation missing. The desk clerk & manager Peter proceeded to tell me it was my word against him since I did not have my confirmation number on me. It was figured out that he had made my reservation for the day previously. He was very pompous and rude and not even slightly apologetic. I know for fact that I made my reservation for the proper day but once again is was my word against his word as he put it. He also told me “I have worked here for three years and don’t make mistakes like this” I’ve worked my job for five years, but still manage to make mistakes, even big ones now and then. What can I say, I’m human and I learn from my mistakes but he apparently is not human. He offered me a smoking room for a higher price. Why would anyone pay a higher price for a crappy room? I argued him down to the same price as my original room and was charged for both days even though I made the reservation for the one day only. When I contacted the Owner a few days later his customer service skills were no better than his managers. He didn’t show any remorse or even apologize. They agreed to refund me half of the fee for the one night we did not book. When I told him how displeased I was with his company and that I would post reviews about this experience he revoked his offer of a half refund for a night I did not book. Worst experience ever, I stayed in that piece of sh*t smoking room out of hope that they would refund me for the night I did not book. No such luck. Worst customer service ever. p.s. Our friends stayed in non smoking rooms and said the smoke smell was awful in their rooms too.

I stayed here 2 weeks. I spend a great deal of time in motels/extended stay units in different parts of the US due to work. This was one of the cleanest & more pleasant experiences. Accomodated all my requests, fair rate, pleasant staff. Quickly responded to problems. Would stay here again.

I did like one staff member who was apologetic for her rude boss. I have never been so disgusted with a hotel OWNER before but he was rude and then double charged me. I had some personal requests which have never been denied until him. After him being unbelievable rude i got home to find out i was double charged and now must fight with credit card company. I should have gone with old reviews as i have heard of this problem alot, guess he hopes people don't notice and make more money. My fault as why look at reviews if you're not going to follow them i guess. Anyway as i said not worth any cheap price for this truck stop hotel and for the very nice lady who tried to help, find a new boss.

Needed a last min reservation, got there at 1am, front desk staff not dressed professionally and room not clean, smells in the hallway that reminded one of 'reefer'. Breakfast area not clean, upon checkout, charged a different rate that was originally quoted and oriental owner seemed agitated, gruff and yelling at staff, bit did give me the original rate when I protested. Frankly shocked this motel can carry the Super 8 name. Would not stop there again unless major changes happened in Ferndale area.

I stayed 2 days in this hotel. Everything was perfect for my stay. I would strongly recommend this hotel. The room was clean, the hotel has a nice warm pool ,and a spa for my family, plus free high speed internet! This hotel is last franchise hotel before crossing the Canadian Border. You should stay in this hotel, if you plan to go to Vancouver, BC. Because you pay a lot more in Canada.
