Never Again!!!
I rarely ever write a review, but felt it necessary after the 2nd time of receiving awful customer service. The first time, my dad stayed here while attending his father's funeral and was charged for 2 nights even though he only stayed and got a receipt for 1 night. They used his credit card without his signature or permission and charged him a 2nd night. After calling, they refused to let him talk to management and would absolutely not give a deserved credit back.
Unfortunately, this is a small town with little other housing options, so after a second time my dad stayed due to his mother's funeral and they ended up giving his room away even though he reserved the room with a credit card and called to say he would be late due to severe weather delays. He ended up in a smoking room with my sister who has severe allergies. I also stayed there this time and received stale breakfast breads, zero friendliness and after breakfast my room key had been intentionally deactivated according to housekeeping even though checkout isn't until noon. So don't leave your room on the day of checkout and expect to get back in easily.
Additionally, after talking to the manager on duty, Karen, I was told I could simply write a letter addressed to management of my concerns, (because no one should have to deal with this unprofessionalism especially during a time of stress) but that she could not give any first or last names of any employee or manager or owner...
Do yourself a favor, if you need to stay in New Martinsville, please stay at the MAGNOLIA HOUSE Bed and Breakfast. It is soooooooo worth the little extra. It was booked up this time, otherwise, we would have stayed there.
Don't be fooled they will be changing their name soon to The New Martinsville Plaza Inn I believe, but "management" is still the same.
