Super 8 Gadsden Al, Gadsden

The best service we ever received at any motel. It was a chilly winter day, we had a reservation so they turned the heater on it the room so it was comfortable when we checked in. The manager called about 15 minutes after check in to see if there was anything we needed. We had brand new pillow top mattresses, VERY comfortable. In the morning the manager personally made us waffles. They were far better than any of the ones I had made in the past. You can bet I'll stay here again any time I'm in the area!

The owner is a hot tempered, disrespectful person that will cancel you for no reason if you make him mad. Here is my story. I had a reservation. It got changed I discovered when I called to confirm on the Super 8 national line. I complained as I got no call. I called the motel and it was explained to me the air conditioning went out. The girl I talked to was very nice and I said OK I understood but wished they had called me. I considered the matter closed. Well an hour later I am enjoying dinner with my wife is a noisy restaurant (Karaoke night) and my cell phone rings. An Indian gentleman was on the phone. I was relaxed happy and looking forward to my trip the next day. He starts yelling and demanding is that OK without me noit sure who he was or wanted over the noise around me. I told him I understood the change but wished he had called me earlier. He then got very ugly told me I cost him $65 for complaining and I should not have done that. He then said he was cancelling my reservation. I said you are cancelling because I called Super 8 corporate he yelled yes and hung up on me. The reservation is a verbal contract that cannot be just cancelled because he doesn’t like me. I called Super 8, was told a bunch of irrelevant stuff about the owners legal rights to cancel at will. I finally did get mad as they did not seem to care. I also found out the owner claimed I cussed at him which is a total lie if he said that. Super 8 responded back two days later, I had to resolve the issue myself directly with the owner. Save yourself the grief, go to Motel 6. It is about the same price, cleaner and much more customer friendly. Wyndham (Super 8) does not have control of their francises!

Nice pool, nice room, lots of really hot water for showers or bath. Wifi good. very clean...however, only 2 pillows per bed(probably could have asked for more) Lenient pool hours...Overall, a great stay !!
