A Great Location, But Not A Great Value
I stayed here with my extended family two years ago. WE NEVER WENT BACK. The location was great, right above the Candy Kitchen ( a huge plus for kids), and around Orange Julius & several other food places. Just steps from the beach and situated about mid-Boardwalk, it's right in the thick of things and a great place to see interesting sites.
The pool is small but gated in the back of the hotel and it gives off a scary vibe being back there. It is hardly used, so you can tan or what not without being disturbed by loud kids.
The hotel room we stayed in had two double beds. Well, it smelled in the room. The bathroom toilet had stains on the seat and the shower's water pressure wasn't that good. The soaps and shampoos you'd normally see in the room were, get this, half used. This meant a previous guest(s) had used them. We called the front desk, or tried to, and they said they'd be up with more and were very sorry, but never came.
Speaking of the staff, some were friendly. Most seemed angry at their job and were paticularily rude if you asked for something. They didn't want to answer your questions and they weren't any help in helping you find neabry attrations or eateries. Maybe I'm annoying, but they were RUDE.
The whole hotel had a musty odor and really, it was dirty. It was connected to Sunsations so if you were coming back from the beach wet, you had to get the whole store wet & bother customers. It was very embarrasing to be walking through there all sandy & gross and getting the store wet.
And Sunsations closes at 9, so after that, you have to go out the back doors past the pool AT NIGHT when you come back from the boardwalk. And it isn't even cheap. Currently, it's $300/n for a week in July. WHAT? WHY? This hotel sucks.
