A Great Location, But Not A Great Value
By Molly, 6/9/12
I stayed here with my extended family two years ago. WE NEVER WENT BACK. The location was great, right above the Candy Kitchen ( a huge plus for kids), and around Orange Julius & several other food places. Just steps from the beach and situated about mid-Boardwalk, it's right in the thick of things and a great place to see interesting sites. The pool is small but gated in the back of the hotel and it gives off a scary vibe being back there. It is hardly used, so you can tan or what not without being disturbed by loud kids. The hotel room we stayed in had two double beds. Well, it smelled in the room. The bathroom toilet had stains on the seat and the shower's water pressure wasn't that good. The soaps and shampoos you'd normally see in the room were, get this, half used. This meant a previous guest(s) had used them. We called the front desk, or tried to, and they said they'd be up with more and were very sorry, but never came. Speaking of the staff, some were friendly. Most seemed angry at their job and were paticularily rude if you asked for something. They didn't want to answer your questions and they weren't any help in helping you find neabry attrations or eateries. Maybe I'm annoying, but they were RUDE. The whole hotel had a musty odor and really, it was dirty. It was connected to Sunsations so if you were coming back from the beach wet, you had to get the whole store wet & bother customers. It was very embarrasing to be walking through there all sandy & gross and getting the store wet. And Sunsations closes at 9, so after that, you have to go out the back doors past the pool AT NIGHT when you come back from the boardwalk. And it isn't even cheap. Currently, it's $300/n for a week in July. WHAT? WHY? This hotel sucks. -Molly Samuels Traveler; Phillidelphia, Pennsylvania

what a waste of money !
By George, 5/15/12
liked the closeness to the boardwalk. disliked lousy beds no hot water worn-out decor loud and noisy at 2:00am because they booked a bunch of high school seniors. also, if your not out of your room by 10:00am room cleaners leave a sign on the door stating they won't clean the room til next day. booked a wedding reception or something, I couldn't tell, which left no parking spaces for the paying guest . My foot was in a cast and i had to walk an additional 2 blocks to gain entrance to hotel. I wouldn't recommend this place to a band of traveling gypsies.

Will not go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/09
I read the review from Vincent who visited Paradise Plaza in 11/08 and I think my husband and I got the same room as he. It was suposed to be a premium room and boy did we get a surprise. The room was moldy, smelled of bleach and no carpet and totally out of date. We have never been in a hotel room with tile floors even in a cheap one.The sliding door lock was broke, the chairs on balcony were dingy, the bathroom needed a lot of attention, mold around the tile, exaust fan did not work and the chair for the small table we had was falling apart. The beds, which were Serta, pillow top with nice pillows, not so. We were so disapointed I just wanted to leave, so I told the clerk at the desk some of my feeling about the room and all I got from her was a blank stare.( not to blame her she is just the clerk) I would not recommend this place to anyone because the photos on the internet were not of the room we reveived. I don't think it ever had a picture on the wall.We spent good money for a nice week-end stay and got nothing in return. We liked the balcony view but did not like the room.

Far From Paradise
By NaketaM, 9/8/09
I stayed at this hotel the last weekend in August. On Saturday several guests were complaining because there was no water. When I arrived in my room I too had no water. The problem was not corrected until the following day. I checked out of the hotel on 8/31/09. I've made several calls to the hotel because they still have $200 on hold on my credit card. The bank has attempted to contact the hotel. I am now being told to call tonight after 9 pm. I have a coupon for a free night stay. I won't ever go back there.

Perfect!
By marya, 3/8/07
This hotel has large comfortable rooms, the ocean front rooms are wonderful for sitting on the balcony and watching the ocean, or people watching on the boardwalk. It is right in the middle of the action. Cleaning ladies are friendly and helpful. Just wish the pool was upgraded a little, but then you shouldn't come to Ocean city to spend time in a pool!

The Paradise Plaza was a lovely surprise. The rooms were clean, large and well-maintained. The balcony was great and we truly enjoyed our stay! Great location.
