Exquisite and fun
By Linda, 10/5/09
We loved our Executive Studio and the decor of the hotel and El Mercado. One of our favorite things was to use the relaxation area followed by the hammam (these services are complementary). The staff was very helpful but do NOT eat at El Bistro. Overpriced and the food is not that good.

An acquired taste
By Gregory, 11/28/08
Too fashion makes it less practical, white restaurant is too artsy. Expensive.

Absolutely the best! Don't let anybody full you, those who gave bad revews are like guys from Utah complaining that clubs in New York City are overcrowded. They are just clueless.

Form over Function
By ali, 8/28/08
You stay at La Faena to have a hotel experience unlike any other. From the moment we were greeted at the door, to the moment we checked out-I felt like I had been in an imaginary world. The "experience managers" were EXTREMELY helpful and I used them to the fullest advantage. We stayed over my sister's birthday and they were very helpful in finding things for us to do, and setting up most of our night activities. The pool, as said, is not the greatest. Expect to get there early to get a chair, but needless to say to watch the people hanging out there was fun enough when there were two of us to a chair. There were three of us in one room-and with the cot the size was fine. The lay out of the room was different, but like I said it's more for form than function. Don't go here if you expect what you see at most hotels. Every bar and restaurant in this hotel is different than anything I've ever experienced, and even after staying at the Ritz in Miami once a year-would prefer to go back to La Faena. I guess I just like to be a part of an experience. The night we had a couple drinks in the cigar/library bar will stick with me always, and nothing too crazy in particular happened-I think it was just the atmosphere of the staff and everyone inside that made it so memorable.

Aviod This Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/29/06
1) Bad location - Puerto Madero. Their rates should be adjusted as this location is not the best. 2) Black Mold on shower floor 3) Room size equal to a postage stamp 4) Bathrooms that you have to walk out of to change your mind. 5) Don't try to use the pool. Only 18 chairs with no management oversight. Overall, this hotel does not work and is simply overpriced.

Unique concept
By Shortstmp, 1/29/06
They break down the traditional hospitality model and have created a fun experience in a great location. We stayed here 3 nights and then 4 seasons 3 nights. I am 50 so felt relief at the 4 seasons familiarity. They never miss a beat and 4 seasons management is the best. Back to Faena. The first few hours takes some getting used to. We stayed in the larger room (small room 30sq mtrs) and were impressed with the layout. It certainly is not my taste (red velvet curtains and white leather ornate chairs)but it was fun for a vacation. I prefered the location over the Avear or Seasons. It is in a newly developed area accessed by a bridge. Major metro BA is gridlocked at peak times. The breakfast area is outdoors and the landscaping is very creative and uplifting. Its a perfect way to start the day. The pool area is great with the bar at the end of the pool. The hotel is full of younger energetic types from around the world. This is a place where you neeed to put out some effort at first to get to know the staff. They are all college educated (including porters) and speak english. If I was twnety years younger and moving at a faster pace this would be the best spot. The experience manager is available 24/7 but never felt the need to call. This is not the most "masculine" type of place but either is BA. The macho world of Mexico etc did not appear to exist.
