Choked Out by Smoke
By jsilk, 03/12/08
We had a nonsmoking room, but in the middle of the night, cigarette smoke came in through the bathroom vent. Since all the rooms in our vicinity were "nonsmoking," we complained to the management. We were told they "knew about the problem" but were reluctant to do anything about it. "Those people will be leaving soon," we were told. When they checked out, we had several smoke-free nights, then another smoking neighbor moved in. When we complained again, we were told "There is nothing we can do about it." They offered to move us to another room (no assurance that it would be smoke-free, though). I said, "Why should WE have to move when it is the other guests who are breaking the rules?" "Because you're the ones complaining," we were told. So we did move--to another motel. Doubt we'll be staying at Studio 6 again.

I've never had an experience like this before...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/06
We chose this place because we needed an extended stay (6-10 weeks) lodging arrangement at an ecomnomical price. We didn't get it. The price varied from one desk attendant to another. TThe average age of attendants was aroung 20,and most couldn't quote a rate or compute a price with tax.Several became so defensive when approached with a previously quoted rate they were rude. One became so angry she was verbally abusive to us, and then stormed away in tears. After having made the extended reservation, made payment, and checked the arrangements three times, we received a call at the end of our first week, telling us we hadn't paid our bill, had violated checkout time, and would be evicted forthwith, as no rooms were available. Our protests and attempts to explain and to show our confirmed reservations were interrupted, rejected, and shouted over by both the young clerk and the manager, who also threatened to throw us out because she didn't like it when people got angry. It required calls to the national headquarters, where we were asked about the situation, listened to, and had the original reservations checked, to settle the problem. The outrageous rudeness generated a feeling that didn't go away, and we left as early as possible. We were supposed to be guests here! P.S.--despite advertising, NO internet service, NO cable--just (expensive) dialup and broadcast TV.

Reservations? Sorry, Can't Help You
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/05
I had a written confirmation to stay at Studio 6 in Montlake Terrace (north Seattle) for out-of-state visitors coming for my 50th Birthday. Not only did Studio six fail to honor the reservation (sorry, we overbooked), they then charged me for the room anyway. They did eventually refund the charge, but they never sent a promised "complimentary nights' stay" as an apology. In fact, they never apologized period. Who's running that place?

Best Motel Experience
By Ranjini, 05/20/05
This has been the best motel experience in all our travels on the west coast of the US and British Columbia. We have already stayed twice and plan to return everytime we are in Seattle. Lovely comfortable rooms, nice bath and attached kitchenette. Peaceful and quiet location. We highly recommend it. Great value for money.
