Going downhill fast

We reserved and confirmed our room a year in advance but were told they did not have any room for us when we went to check in, let alone the room we had reserved. We would not have gotten a room if my husband hadn't made such a stink. The housekeeping staff did the best they could with what they had to work with. Nothing has been updated or replaced for years and it shows. Our kitchenette had a dishwasher that wasn't attached to the wall and would fall out every time the upper shelf was pulled out. Our kitchette had 2 spoons and 3 knives but no forks or other utensils. We had 6 coffee cups, 5 plates, 4 bowls, and one glass. Housekeeping brought more glasses, some forks, and a couple of knives but they were out of spoons. The housekeeping staff apologized but there was little they could do. The new manager told us that it would reflect badly on her if she spent any money on the place and suggested that maybe we should stay elsewhere in the future. We plan to do just that. I would not look for this hotel to be open much longer.
