By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/06
It's close to my work site when I'm in town, everyone is very nice and friendly. and staying @ the Hampton Inn again it is very easy for me get around from this location. Downtown Cleveland is nice and I enjoy Tower City.

Enjoyed our stay and will return
By rockmom5, 08/02/06
We have stayed in the Cleveland area a dozen times in the last 8 years, this is the first time we stayed in downtown. The staff was great, we used the valet parking for our van for $18 for overnight. We were about 4 blocks from Jacobs Field, where there was a game that night, and Coopers'town, Alice Cooper's restaurant is across the street from the ballpark, we have gone to that restaurant every visit. We arrived on a Saturday evening, very friendly greeting, nice room, king size bed, sleeper sofa, both comfortable. Bath/shower with a sink/counter in the corner, clean. We thought it would too expensive to stay downtown in the past and when I checked rates for this hotel, I was surprised. This is the second time on this trip we stayed at a Hampton Inn and they are all about quality. We decided to have dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and take a cab, they had one there instantly for us. Their breakfast was great, altho it was very crowded. With the baseball team in town, I do believe the hotel was full. But they handled it very well. The only problem we encountered was that we wanted to check out by 10 and go to the Rock Hall of Fame before we left town and there were no carts available for us to get our luggage down to our van. We spoke to the manager, asked if we could leave our things in our room, go to the rock hall for a couple of hours, and check out at 12 instead. He changed our checkout time until 2 p.m. so that we wouldn't be rushed if we decided to stay longer at the museum. He was very accommodating and I would definitely stay there again.

Good News
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/05
I was traveling last minute and did not have a chance to make a reservation prior to my stay. The front desk did everything to accommodate our needs. I had a 2 room suite w/ pullout sofabed. The suite was very clean and spacious. The staff was friendly, from the housekeeping to the vallet parking. The location is not the best, if you are traveling w/ small children not able or willing to walk a distance to a restaurant.

not bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/22/05
I've stayed here for 2 of my visits to Cleveland. No specific complaints, but it was a bit pricey for the bland rooms. Summertime makes the location a lot nicer than it is in the winter.

One of Cleveland's better budget hotels, but nothing special
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/23/05
A safe choice for those looking for a great rate in a great location (on the intersection of E. 9th and Superior) for travelers on business. For leisure travelers this isn't the best location. Walking to dowtown's nightspots in Gateway, Playhouse Square, and the Warehouse District. You could walk, but you probably need to take a cab. It is fairly clean and accomodating, but there is nothing particularly enjoyable about the stay. The hotel is a little dated, and the decor is cheap.

Best Hotel Stay
By irfan, 07/06/04
The Hampton Inn of Downtown Cleveland is an excellent hotel. It is centrally located in the heart of the city, near the mall, convention center and across from a church. The view was spectacular, with skyscrapers and Lake Erie looking picturesque together in the same frame.

I arrived late, at 1am, and were greeted courteously by the valet, who doubled as a doorman. When we arrived our rooms were ready and we parked out car, conveniently across the street at $13 a day. I was amazed at the room, it was spacious, with am additional sofa, oversized bed and a colossal window of the city. The sofa doubled as a bed, supporting an additional 2 people, on top of the 3 people already supported by the bed. The bathroom was very large, with a tub, and triangular shaped sink. The breakfast was all inclusive with the room, complete with bagels, eggs, biscuits, cereal, doughnuts, fruit and yogurt. On the way out I wanted to sleep in, but check-out is at 12:00. I called the front desk and they let me stay till 3:00, with no problem, showing they care about their guests. They also offer a 100% refund policy if your not completely satisfied.

It is on the same level as the Sheraton City Centre, except that doesn’t offer free breakfast or same level of service as the Hampton Inn. However the Marriot at Key Center occupies the largest building in Cleveland making it seem appealing.
I got the room via hotwire.com at $41.00 per night. I assumed a cheap hotel, but left with the best stay at any hotel. The room rates as follows:

Standard Rate : 120.00
Hotels.com : 123.00
AAA rate : 98.10
Hotwire :41.00
