Comfort Inn Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa

I have stayed in Comfort Inn traveling from SC to AZ. On this trip, I stopped at this one at 12:30am. I choose comfort Inn because I have never had trouble with them and because I travel with my dog. This comfort Inn was the absolute worst hotel I have ever come across. The place was dirty top to bottom. I should have known after looking around when I first came in. I asked for a room and I was sent to a room that smelled like cat urine and the carpet was spotted with something resembling mud ground into the carpet. It wasn't just stained. Whatever it was, was still in the carpet, crusty and all and in a number of places. The second room....the same. The third room ....the same plus this room had a couch that was had a stain in the seat of it. I was completely disgusted. I complained to the night clerk after the 3rd room. She said that there has been problems and that recently a group of Mexicans had rented out the place for 30 days and they basically trashed the place and they were in the mist of repairing and replacing. After thinking about this, Surely they knew how bad the rooms were. Why would they send me to such dirty rooms? I took a good look at the carpet and walls in the lobby and hallways. Very dirty. I got back in my car and did not find another place to stay until 2:30am. I was told the manager would call me and "make it up to me. " It's been almost 3 weeks and not a word. think I will write them. Don't even bother to stop here. I see that prior to this post there have been very positive reviews. It may have been like that before, but it certainly is not like that now.

its so nice, and so clean. the service is so good and all the people in this hotel were all friendly and very approachable!!!! im gonna go back to this hotel for sure!!!!

* Nice facade - looks like a seaside resort * Clean rooms * Helpful, friendly staff * Extra nice breakfast. Had fresh waffles, biscuit, gravy and canadian bacon when we visited. * High speed internet in room * Clean and well lit hallways * Found two really good antique stores within 4 miles of this location. Compared to all the other places to stay in the area this one was our best bet. Reasonably priced and very clean. We will stay again when we come back to the area.

A wonderful nights rest in a truelly comfortable and clean property. One of the best rooms i've seen this year. Staff is very accomodating and hospitable. I will definately be back.
