Foxwoods is always an A
I've stayed at all three of Foxwoods hotels.
Grand Pequot (A+, especially if you get a suite (By the way, a petite suite is about $50 more than a standard room, and you get to check in in the VIP section and get special attention. And you'll most likely get an early check in like I did last weekend (1pm). What a difference! Free valet parking at all hotels. Hey, did you know that a petite suite has a full bath with walk in marble shower, a jacuzzi that you can get lost in, a bar with FREE soda and water, coffee machine, a livingroom room with vcr and tv and the bedroom with same.) The Great Cedar is the best,location-wise: shorter walk to the Poker Room and most of the restaurants and action.
Room Service: At all hotels I think the prices are average. I once got stuck paying for $27 for a cheese pizza at a Santa Monica hotel (which I think is outrageous) so a three egg, cheese omelet with three fillings and toast for $14 doesn't freak me out. Dinner? Average about $17 and up, per person.
I live an hour and a half away but have stayed at Foxwoods about a dozen times. The best rates are calling direct. If you have a wampum card (their free ranking point card) you'll get the best hotel rate, too. I prefer the Grand Pequot when I'm in the mood for more pampering, plus it's where the pool and the spa/salon are- and you can roll out of bed and be in one of their casinos, but the Great Cedar is cool, too - closer to the main restaurants, and cheaper by about $30. I only stayed at the Two Trees Inn once because the other two hotels were sold out. I didn't care for it, although their breakfast was okay. If's on the property but you have to take an outside shuttle (Free and runs quite often, you'll be there in five minutes) to get to the action. I'd rather just "be there." But this is their most cost-effective hotel. You can get a room on the weekend for about $125 vs. $165-$300. I got stuck with a smoking room (last minute booking) and as a non-smoker, it was tough. My fault for last minute plans, though.
Foxwoods has all the casino games, (yes, all. War, Acey-Deucy, Slots, you name it) including the biggest poker room I've ever seen, which is now located downstairs and occupies the entire floor. No draw but everything else from $1-2 no limit to Sit and Go's to Stud, Omaha, WSOP qualifiers (called ACTS). Floor personnel very nice and helpful. No food at the tables anymore. Oh, Mohegan Sun does NOT have poker so don't even think of going there if you're a poker player. They gave up the room for more slots, I think. (No, I don't work for Foxwoods!)
FOOD: Besides the Festival Buffet and the Paragon, they have Cedar Steak House, a fantastic chinese restaurant, Italian, etc. (Call a couple of days in advance for restaurant reservations), also they have Johnny Rockets, Nathan's Hot Dogs and Fuddruckers. California Pizza is coming soon. They have meals for everyone's budget and every type of food, from hot dogs and pizza, to steaks and chops.
The views are great from your room because you are surrounded by nothing but trees. The bad news is there isn't anything to go see or do, except visit Mohegan (which is a nice casino too by the way. Good shopping.)
This is an indian casino but bigger than anything you've ever seen before. It's not Vegas but you won't care. And there's enough to keep you content at Foxwoods!
