Wingate Inn by Wyndham Clarksville, Clarksville

Room and staff were good. Manager was useless and arrogant. I paid cash in advance for a 5 night stay, only stayed two nights when I asked for a refund, the manager told me I would receive a check in 3-5 days. A clerk told me they had the cash in the till but the manager said she could not use that, 9 days have past and I still don't have my refund check for $291 that is owed to me. Nor will the manager return any of my phone calls to tell me the status of my refund. Inept service like hers should not be tolerated. She needs to be replaced with a manager that knows they are in the costumer service business.

September 24-25th weekend we chose to stay at the wingate INN SINCE It was listed as the host hotel FOR OUR GIRLS FASTPITCH TOURNEY. HURRICANE RITA was predicted to hit the area on That Sunday morning the 25th(which it did)And the softball tourney officials decided to make it a one day (Sat 24TH)tourney and play throughout the day/night until finished for the safety of the kids, a wise move. I called the hotel at 4:15 central time and ask they sell our rooms,BRANDON,the desk manager at the time was VERY polite and said he could not cancel the reservation, but I asked he try and sell the rooms of mine and the coach. After thinking about the time the tourney was going to get over and our 2 hour drive back to indiana I called to see if i could still get my room and BRANDON HAD SOLD THE ROOM(S)-So I thanked him and decided then I had no choice but to drive home at 2AM. Then on MONDAY MORNING I WOKE UP TO MY CREDIT CARD BEING CHARGED and called TON-I WITH AN i AND ASKED HIM WHAT WAS UP- HE WAS BASICALLY WAS HATEFUL to me until I calmed him down and told me he would refund me-WHICH HE DID but he said NO-ONE ELSE WOULD BE REFUNDED that cancelled-EVEN THOUGH THEY SOLD ALL THE ROOMS to other guests!!!!!ETHICS?? I GOT MY money back by dealing with Toni but YOU MAY NOT!! I have friends that have not!!

Our softball team was playing in a local tournament on Sept 24,25 2005. Because of Hurricane Rita, tourney officials decided at 4 pm to cut the tourney short. The other coach and myself cancelled our rooms for the night as soon as we found out. When it became evident we were going to be there until midnight we both called the Wingate to see if our rooms were still available. Both rooms were filled. The problem is they will not give us a refund. Net effect, they collected twice for the same rooms! This happened to 7 families. Repeated attempts to talk with the manager have been unsuccessful. Mr Reed will not return phone calls. This is unethical! We have 10 teams under our sponsorship and they will never stay there again!

Very disappointed in Customer relations. Called to CANX reservation 10 MINUTES after placing, yes, just 10 minutes later the same day. Hotel REFUSED TO CANX. My husband is a disabled veteran and had recently undergone hip replacement surgery, and we decided due to health and travel problems, to cancel trip after making an impulse decision to go. I will never consider Wingate again until resolved. We're charged $180 ($90.62 x 2 rooms) and never stayed there.
