Big room, great food, nice price!

We stayed at the Edgewater, in one of the rooms in the Inn, for our daughter's first Parents' Weekend at college. (There are a variety of room types, the Inn is more old-fashioned, but there are also condos.) Most other places in the area were very expensive, and most were booked. We ended up with a huge room, king bed, pull-out sofa, nice chairs, plus an adjoining smaller room with twin bed and extra blankets and pillows - all for much less than a generic "cheap" hotel! We also had access to a full kitchen and beautiful, large living room with books, magazines and games. Perfect for our family of 4. It was very private and quiet. The decor was very interesting - some 1970's, some "Grandma's house," but cool artwork, knicknacks and little details-kind of homey. It's right across from the lake, lovely to walk and sit and look out at the water. But the best thing was the food at the adjoining Trak Inn! The breakfast buffet was unbelievable, a server came around with gooey sweet rolls hot from the oven, plus there wre also menu items I think. All kinds of breads, pancakes, eggs, sausage, etc. Dinner was also amazing, the salad bar alone could have been a full meal, included salads from around the world plus the usual, and fresh, homemade bread. Plus a full menu of delicious entrees, everything tasted fresh and homemade. They offered a discount on all meals for guests who were staying there, in honor of parents' weekend at the local colleges. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. We will definitely be going back!
