A terrible experience
By ChristopherG, 02/09/10
This hotel was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. When we checked in, our first room we were given had roaches crawling around the room. The bathroom was unclean and the comforter had brown stains on it. We went to the front desk for another room and when we went into the next room, there were no roaches. There were however blood stains on the sheets and pillows. The comforter had a strange smell to it and the pillows were very old and lumpy. The tub was unclean and the towels were also stained. The next morning my wife went to the free continental breakfast, and all there was to eat was small dry bagels and some honey buns. My suggestion is to stay away from this hotel.

Very good value

As a business traveler/ road warrior, I have probably stayed at Fairway 30 times over the last couple of years. Its clean, the people who work there are nice, AND they speak English. Its a quiet, yet convenient location, and has a nice pool. Its the best budget priced motel south of Deerfield, in my opinion.

Continental breakfast was a joke
By Jean, 03/08/08
Coffee, white bread, and tasteless sweet rolls. That was it. The most limited "continental breakfast" I've ever seen. Room was OK but we were promised a ground floor room. When we arrived at 3 PM we were told we'd need to wait another hour and a 1/2 before a clean one would be available, but we could have a second floor room with no wait (same price - even though there was no elevator). We had things to do so we took the second floor room. Room was noisy. Exterior doors need more sound insulation.

Never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/08
We stayed at this motel because the stay was included in tour package. A non-smoking room was specified and we were given a really smoky room. The bathroom sink was cracked, the toilet was loose from the floor, the grill was missing from the air conditioner, mold in the bathroom, no clock, floor in bathroom was dirty,no instructions in room, and two of the four plastic cups were opened and rewrapped. The management was rude and disrespectful. There were many first floor non-smoking rooms vacant at this time. This is next to the worst motel I have ever stayed in.

Learning experience=never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/13/07
Seemed clean, well kept until my learning experience the 2nd day. I discovered, for the first time, what bed bugs look like! We were moved to another room, but never rec'd an apology or any compensation from the management concerning this problem. I would never refer anyone to this hotel. It was a horrible experience and ruined our vacation. Now I worry the bugs might have hitched a ride home with us dispite all of our precautions.

Absolute Stink Hole!
By JoJo, 11/15/07
This place was an absolute stink hole. The rooms were not properly cleaned and during the 4 nights we stayed there, there was little or no maid service. The hotel was packed for race weekend and they did not have enough towels for all the rooms. We ended up having to go to Walmart to buy towels, toilet paper, and air freshener. The staff was extremely rude and had no customer service skills whatsoever. They never smiled and they all acted like they worked for minimum wage and hated their jobs. The "continental breakfast" consisted of little debbie cakes and coffee. All this for $200 a night!! They made you pay for a minimum of 4 nights regardless of whether you wanted to stay for just Friday and Saturday night. They take advantage of the fact that there are not enough hotels in the Homestead/Florida City area for all the visting Nascar Fans by raising their rates (which according to the chamber of commerce magazine next door is normally $35 per night). The least they could do if they are going up their rates over 500%, is give you towels and toilet paper.

Absolutely terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/07
I checked in for two nights after a long trip. Room 601 had no heat on a cold night. I called desk to ask for help and was told maintenace would be by. I waited over an hour and called again. Told that maintenance was too busy but they'd try. I waited in room entire evening for maintenance without any luck. The next morning I asked Alberto at the front desk if the room was going to get heat. He looked up my record and said I was supposed to have been moved to room 808 the night before. I hadn't been and no one had contacted me. He then issued me a key for 808. I tromped through the rain and tried it. No work. I got another key and tried it. No work. He sent me with the maintenance man, Pete, who tried the key and then beat hard on the door. An irate customer in 808 yelled at me through a crack in the door. I don't blame him. Back at the desk, Shital Patel, another clerk, couldn't provide heat or another room. I was now wet, cold, still had no heat in 601 and hoped I wouldn't run in to the guest in 808 again. I checked out and received a refund for the second night. They refused to refund any amount for the first night without heat but referred me to manager Jay Patel. He stonewalled each time I called over the next few days and finally said no one else had complained about the heat in the room and that I had been offered another room. I had not been, except for 808, which was occupied. Very unprofessional. This is not a place that you can trust to provide a habitable room nor to act in a businesslike manner when they make a mistake.

Variable experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/29/07
Stopped at the end of a long drive and a bad day (a raccoon had tried to attack us earlier!) Good service from the desk clerk who knocked a bit off when I tried my useless bartering technique. A little bit noisy but that's what you get near a main highway. The main problem was the cleanliness: there were questionable stains on the carpet (probably yoghurt...)but the pillows!!! My wife nearly threw up when she saw them, absloutely disgusting! Luckily we had our own as she is a bit paranoid about them but in this case it was justified.

Would go back again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/06
Accommodations were clean and bug-free. Older buildings, but newer furniture, microwave and refrigerator in most rooms. Wireless internet signal too low to get connection. We stayed at a group rate, which was 1/2 or less than 1/2 of surrounding "name" hotels, so value was appropriate to accommodations. Note: no hair dryer, coffee maker or alarm clock. Clock on microwave. Used wake-up call service, which was reliable. Would stay there again unless I absolutely needed the internet to work.
