Econo Lodge Johnstown, Johnstown

We were pleased with our stay here. The hotel is older and very simple in hall and lobby design and decor, but the entire hotel is exceptionally clean. Our room was very pleasant, bright and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was roomy and spotless. The only smoke odor noted anywhere in the hotel was in 1 back staircase. The hotel was very quiet. The location was convenient to our plans in the city, and we easily walked downtown for a meal. We especially liked the 24 hour coffee/hot water machine in the lobby so we could have brewed coffee, hot chocolate or tea whenever we wanted. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Johnstown, without reservation, and would recommend it for other thrifty travelers.

The EconoLodge in Johnstown isn't a fancy place, but in our 3 or 4 stays there, we found the front desk staff to be exceptionally friendly, no matter what time of day or night. That made us feel really welcome. The room was pretty standard for this sort of place. The room itself was a little small, but it was clean and had all the basic amenities, plus a small refrigerator, which was a nice touch, since we had food for the trip with us. They have a computer in the lobby that you can use and wireless Internet available. The breakfast is the usual "continental breakfast" fare. The location is pretty well in the middle of Johnstown, which was very convenient for us, since we were all over town looking at real estate. If you get the munchies, there's a McDonalds across the street, and a Sheetz nearby, which is a convenience store/gas station with a deli. If you're looking for a basic, inexpensive place to stay, this might be someplace to check out. Or check in. ;)
