Not great

Our family of 4 picked this hotel because it was close to the Prime Outlets mall. The outside appearance was not impressive - broken planters and planters without flowers. I know it was October, but they could have placed mums out there for fall. The lobby inside looked worn, badly in need of sprucing up and basic maintenance, and overwhelmed you with clorine smell from the pool. The fireplace was not going either. The room was clean, but there was a broken tile and a loose tile in the entry of the bathroom, the newer style shower curtain rod was pulling out of the wall which made the shower curtain open while showering, the air conditioner (old style with push buttons and no temp reading near the window) wouldn't work during the night, the floor lamp wobbled and was pitted on the base, and then the toilet clogged after the 2nd time using it. The staff brought a plunger to our room and offered to do it for me, but I chose to do myself. I thought it was nice that the plunger was in a plastic bag until I began to remove the bag. Water (who knows where from) came out a hole in the bag and ran over my hand and feet and the floor. At least I managed to unclog the toilet so we could use it. We didn't stay for breakfast either. They had waffles as the only "hot" item. We decided to catch a real breakfast on the way home.
It seems like they are hurting for money. This seems surprising since we paid less at Holiday Inn Express in Auburn Hills the night before and had a great hotel for $26 less.
