Econo Lodge Picayune, Picayune

I spent two nights at the Econolodge in Picayune. One of them being my wedding night. My wedding party dressed at the hotel and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. Econolodge Picayune helped make my wedding very memorable.

Me and my husband had planned to stay for three nights.. we stayed one hour before we asked for a refund, the guy at the desk told us we could not have a refund for that day but refunded the following days. The stay that night was eerie, my husband and I both had been bitten by bugs while sleeping! Thank god for the hotel next door, they made the rest of our stay in picayune so pleasant and get this... they had better prices!

The room smelled of a wet dirty dog. The bed looked as if housekeeping just threw the bed covers on. Dirty towels left in bathroom from previous guest, toilet was not clean, even during our stay. Dirty towels left behind door. Oh, and only 2 bath towels, one day we had bath rugs to left to use as bath towels. Vanity and sink were not cleaned during our stay. Also, missing plates on electrical outlets. We also stayed there for 5 weeks prior to this stay. I was just glad I befriended the housekeeper then, she kept our room clean. We were told they had a new housekeeper that is why our room was not kept up. Not a good enough excuse in our opinion. For the price of $80.00 a night, it was definitely not worth it. Glad the company was paying for our room. It's too bad that cleanliness is not a top priority of this hotel.
