Perfect Place to Stay

The hotel was conveniently located near restaurants, the Garden District, a fabulous pub and The Trolley which made all other sections of town easily accessible.
This area is quiet but not dead - plenty of restaurants with people going down the street and catching the trolley.
We had debated staying here or another from this hotel chain closer into town - this area is much better: no fast food, gas stations, freeway.
The hotel was modern, clean, well taken care of with professional helpful staff and valet.
Our room was clean, decorated in pleasing colors and in a consistent style that was a cut above most other hotels in this price range.
Reading other reviews I saw complaints about noise and decor, we had no problem with noise and like I said, the decor was very nice and nothing to complain about even if it was not one's personal style favorite - it was professionally designed and carried out - nothing cheesy or cheap.
Another review said this is not a 'real' boutique hotel but Clarion is not a boutique line and this is nicer than their other hotels which are usually pretty nice. It was good enough, no robe but nice big towels, excellent bedding with a choice of down or alt. pillows and the room was spacious - no crowding, nothing needed to be moved out of the way.
We had a 6 foot counter for the coffee maker/microwave and fridge - plenty of room for serving appetizers and breakfast. Nice furniture that matched the decor and was comfortable. This was definitely better than average - not just another hotel room, I'd compare it to a modest suite on the concierge floor of a mid-range hotel but with the intimacy and interest of a small refurbished older hotel so I think they are justified in calling it a Boutique Hotel.
