Hotel Vista Real Guatemala, Guatemala City

This hotel is really beautiful. The gardens and grounds were beautiful as is the architecture. I had fun exploring the building and grounds. Everyone was really nice. The room was beautiful too. I highly recommend the place.

The hotel is beautiful!! The rooms are great and the food was first class. But every time that we would check out there were mysterious additions to our bill. Whenever there was a problem with the room the front desk tried everything they could to stick us with the inconvenience. The amenities are great, but the front desk was terrible to deal with. I don't care how good the hotel looks. If you have to go through that hassle every time it just ruins everything. Suddenly the fancy lights and architecture are a front for the con artists behind the desk.

My husband and I just loved it. Wonderful food, super massages, great personal experience. The people were very polite we would love to go back!!!! I would love to have a few from the roof top!!!!!

I like everything, the pool, the food, the people who go... and the service is very good. I wish, I could live in the apartments towers that vista real is doing but I don't live in Guatemala, so I have to find me another part to live in my country. They should make a vista real hotel in El Salvador, the same look as the hotel as Guatemala.

After such a great stay I promised to tell as many people as possible how great it was to be at this location. We stayed business class which means we got two meals a day, turn down service, and a beautiful room. The bed was so comfy and there were enough TV channels to please anyone. They even had english subtitles on a lot of the channels. The exercise room was so much more. All of the equipment was new and worked. After you exercised with a view of the garden and the pool you could take a steam shower with eucalyptus or a jacuzzi bath, both of them private. The hotel was far from the road so it had a quiet setting with a kind and thoughtful staff. the food was fantastic and authentic. The security was excellent and I felt safe at all times. The free shuttles to shopping and the airport were grand. Everyone was flexible and looking to provide excellent service. The rooms were impeccable and the views were stunning. Every dollar you spend here will be worth it !

we stayed at the quinta real for a week in december and felt very much at home. the hotel employees were friendly and accommodating. it was helpful to have 24 hour room service available and the food was excellent. the hotel grounds are beautiful and picturesque with terraced koi ponds and a waterfall. the restaurant offers breakfust buffets as well as individual dishes. i liked the fresh juices available in the main dining hall and their basket of breads and pastries served at each table. the rooms are comfortable and they offer high-speed internet access for the business traveler. not all the rooms have safe boxes and the ones available with the front desk are large enough to fit jewelry, passport and maybe an ipod. if you have a laptop, you should bring a security cable just in case. most of the hotel services responded quickly like laundry services, room service, and housekeeping. there was one night, however, when no one from the front desk or room service was picking up the phone. this was due to the limited staff in the evening and, additionally, a party was being held in one of the banquet rooms. i finally had to go to the front desk in person to request room service in addition to registering my room for internet service access. another slight concern is the complimentary shuttle pick-up from the airport. we had an evening flight arrival into guatemala city but we had a delay in flight and our luggage was last off the plane so we were behind schedule. the driver of our shuttle left but luckily we had friends who also came to pick us up and they managed to convince the driver to stay a little longer despite the delay in our flight and luggage arrival. another service is that the hotel can help with tour packages. the prices are slightly higher in cost at the hotel but you can look up various websites that offer similar packages for about $50-$100 less than what the hotel charges. an additional feature was a personal driver for $30/3 hours. we hired a guy to drive us to the central mercado and he followed us around and carried our purchases for us while we browsed the markets. this is great for someone unfamiliar with the city and needs just that extra convenience of having a guide/driver. the location, although beatifully set, isn't very close to the zona viva. a taxi can take you to the lively district but it's not within easy walking distance. the hotel is a bit secluded from all the bars and nightclubs but it was quite tranquil and relaxing.

When we arrived, before we actually made it through the check-in, we had a glass of champagne in our hands! Everyone spoke English well and our dinner in the restaurant was superb!! I loved (and adopted) the server's attitude, "Para servirle" (Here to serve you).

The service at this hotel was excellent. The food at this hotel was excellent. The rooms were top notch and clean. The only drawback is that there is very little that is walking distance from this hotel. Lots of cab rides, although they provide a fairly reliable shuttle to Zona Viva and other locations. If you are a tourist that speaks Spanish, this is a terrific place to stay. It's Guatemala, and the experience of staying at Quinta Real will be a better experience than staying with a US hotel in Guatemala City. (If you do not speak Spanish, they do have many employees that are fluent or somewhat fluent in English.)

One word...awesome! The grounds are impeccable. Rooms are secluded with just enough ammenities. The chef is brilliant and the view of th eactie volcanos is unforgettable.
