Disgusting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/4/11
My husband and I planned our 25th anniversary around this Inn. The owner went on and on about it and we were excited. When we arrived it was cold and raining. The place was a mess. The owner a nut and my husband was sol upset by the whole catasrophe he broke out in hives. There were signs on every light switch instructing you to turn me off. Notes were on faucets instructing on the limited use of hot water. The breakfast consisted of cold Wal-mart sweet rolls and luke warm coffee in a dining room covered in years of dust. The owner would not give us a refund and we had paid before we stayed as requested. Quite a racket the man has going for him. He certainly will only be able to jilt customers one time so his list should be getting shorter. Shame on him for his deceiving ads. There is no Red creek no vines (maybe under the weeds) and no horses either. He bragged about a wedding that he hosted. All I can say is bless their poor hearts for choosing this place. What a dump. You ruined our 25th wedding anniversary.

Previous reviews are correct: Awful B&B experience
By mary f, 7/6/08
We called the B&B inn keeper to verify the previous 3 poor reviews -- He stated that these reviews were not accurate and that they were written by disgruntled customers. We decided to give the inn a try. To our dismay, these reviewers were correct and the owner was not completely truthful in his conversion with us. Overall, the inn needs a lot of TLC. Our room was very hot and musty when we first arrived, by evening time the room temperature was more tolerable. There were chips of plaster from the ceiling on the bed and floor. The fire detector was without a battery. We were given a replacement battery, but we still do not think the detector works. The bathroom was in need of updating and was not very clean. After an uncomfortable night sleep we decided not to stay the second night. The inn keeper could not understand our complaints/concerns. We were not given a refund for our second night. The inn is on the market; hopefully, the next owner will be able to update the inn. We can only comment on the condition of our room. There was a large room in the first floor and their experience might differ than ours. Clearly our experience at this B&B was one of our worst. We’d recommend a “Motel 6” over this place anytime. Save your money until new owners buy and improve this B&B.

Nothing nice to say.
By Alysha, 4/28/08
I was originally from the MS Gulf Coast and years ago toured this inn. So when my niece asked me where they could stay in a nice antebellum type b&b's on MS Coast I suggested it. I called and spoke to the owner. I explained that they wanted the Honeymoon Suite and they would be spending their two nights of there honeymoon there. He stated that they had to pay up front upon reservation. They did so. They were told where to get a key and let themselves in. They were told the price included breakfast. They got there and went in. They said it was not clean. It was hotter inside than outside. Not enough towels. And never saw the innkeeper nor did they get breakfast. They ended up leaving a day early and left a note and then went to a hotel. When I called the owner to find out why things were so bad and to resolve the issue, he said he would not respond to my niece and nephew's note and hung up on me and now will not answer my calls.

Don't try it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/27/08
4/26/08 Our son and daughter-in-law gave us this "get-away" for a Christmas present. They know how much we like older homes, antiques etc. Once we finally found the place, I called the innkeeper, Missie, and she told us where the key was and that she had left the air conditioner on for us. We went in and found the Victorian Room. The air was not on and everything was very musty smelling. The furniture was not dusted, there were notes on some chairs that said "Please do not sit on me". The airconditioner quit three times during the hour that we were there. The grass had not been cut and there were weeds growing on the wood pile. My husband and I both have asthma/sinus problems and anything musty like that triggers our problems. I called Missie after we left and told her that we couldn't stay there and we never received a call acknowledging the fact that we had a problem. I just hate that our kids had to spend their hard-earned money on something that appears to be so wonderful on their web page. At one time, I am sure that the house and grounds were beautiful. The house is up for sale and the sign has been there so long the phone number isn't even on the sign any more. Hopefully, some new owners will buy it and give it the care that it deserves.

Out of the way.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/29/07
Was too far out & the whole place needs a refurb. It also needs a good clean, too much dust on furniture, the host was very helpfull & friendly & the breakfast was OK. But the cleanliness or lack of it put me off, the owners are selling up & hopefully the new ones will give it all a new look.
