I was there with several other of my freinds on a motorcycle trip. In all fairness to the place some of them said their rooms were fine, nice carpet and all. My experience was different. Let's start with the general apparence of the room. Carpet was worn and was coming up in places. The blankets on the bed were filthy. My wife pulled them off and crammed them under the dresser, she stripped the bed - mistake! She went. Down to the desk and requested a new room, no luck booked up. She did get new bed covering and we decided to stick it out. Next morning we went down to the "breakfast" - nothingi wanted- cereal, some waffles and coffee in a Foldgers container but let me tell you this- it tasted like dirt! High speed Internet? Really? Internet access is not high speed. TV old tube tv's that should have been replaced a long time ago. If you are used to a Hampton inn this place is extremely disappointing. If you are ok with what I said and stay there I hope you get a better room than I had.

made reservations for this Hotel for Parents Weekend at Texas State for Oct. 1, 2011. It was not our first choice but all other hotels were booked. We attempted to check in at 1:00 but they would not allow this until 2:00 stating the rooms had to be cleaned. We checked in about 4:30 and we were immediately hit with the smell of ANIMAL URINE. Pets are allowed at this hotel. I learned my lesson to never stay were pets are allowed. We could not cancel the reservation as they required 24 HOURS notice. I brought room spray with me and had to spray the room three times and we kept the AC running on super cold all night to help with the smell. Fortunately, we did not spend much time in the room. The room looked clean, the beds were comfortable,the shower worked great and it was quiet. BUT THE SMELL was bad. My husband and I both had sinus issues, scratchy throats the next day from the combination of urine smell and running the AC so much. The next morning when we checked out I asked about compensation and the lady said she was not authorized. I asked her to walk with me to the room so she could smell the odor and she refused saying she inspects all the rooms. She gave me a form to fill out. I put on the form for some one with authority to call me, NO ONE EVER DID. While I was complaining, a man was checking out and said he had requested a non smoking room but he was put in a smoking room with four ashtrays. She had no authority to help him either. I was so hoping we had a place we could rely on during our trips to San Marcos over the next few years but I won't be staying here again not only because of the smell but because of the "don't really care attitude" of the staff which I think was a husband and wife team.

All other hotels were sold out in this area, one of the large very exclusive hotels called for me to see if they had a vacancy they said they had one room available, our children wanted to stay one more night in hotel so they could go swimming, we wanted hotel with swimming pool, preferably one with indoor pool, we had came from san antonio and wanted to go shopping the next day, so we wanted to stay over nearby as long as motel had pool, other wise we would just on and get a hotel in someother town with indoor or heated pool, exclusive hotel attendant was told on phone they had a heated outdoor pool with one vacancy left, so wee took it. When we got there to check in there was a man standing waiting for attendant to get off phone, he asked if they had any vacancys, she said they had one room left for ??? amount, more that what they weekend rates normally are. He said thats okay i have been driving all day. Then she turned and looked at me and asked "can i help you", I told her my name and spoke to her earlier and was here to check in. She said oh, i didn't think you were comming! She was fixing to give him my room. Then she turned to look at him and said oh, im sorry we don't have any rooms left. After getting room, I asked when the pool closed she said 10pm, Okay its 845pm now, you have got to be kidding me i said to myself. So we went to room and got kids clothes on to hurry and go swimming before pool closed, when we got to pool, to out surprise the pool was not heated, the water was very cold! So i went to office and asked the attendant, I thought you said the pool was heated? She said it is! I said No it isnt'. So is there something you need to do to get it warm, She said ill be right back, When she returned she brought the supervisor, he stated im sorry the pool isn't heated, then she looked at me and said, i'm sorry i thought it was i didn't know. Now i know im thinking to myself ,yes you did know. I looked at both of them and told them if we new it wasn't heated we would not have stayed here, That was why we decided to stay in this town. Otherwise we would have driven on. He said well im sorry, i can give you a discount, or let you check out and give you a refund,which only nocked down $20 dollars off, at this time it is after 9 o'clock. We went ahead and deciced to stay, although the children were very dissapointed. It was getting late. We had a 8 hour drive still to get home. We walked into the room and the room has a odd odor, cant decribe it. I do not recommend this place to anyone, People are very dishonest!

Evacuated To This Property, When We Arrived Rates Went Up For EVERYONE $20.00 A Night! Checked Out Before Check Out Time And Were Charged For A Night We Did Not Stay! Other Hotels In This Area Gave Full Refunds For Nights Not Stayed....Book With Other Hotels!

To begin, I had difficulty making a reservation over the phone. It was back-to-school weekend, and other parents were planning to stay the weekend too. The reservationist was worried other people might want to stay over. Frankly, that's tough. The first five hotels I tried were sold out, which was led me to the Ramada in the first place. Finally she reserved our rooms. When we checked in, the room smelled like mildew and was about 88 degrees hot. The hotel was booked solid, but other people still had not checked in. The person at the desk refused to move us to another room, stating that it was not possible. She gave me the manager's name and number. When I called the number, she answered the phone (she gave me the front desk line rather than the manager's number). Then, she lied and said she had already called the manager, but could not reach him. Finally, she sprayed deoderizing spray in our room. We turned the air conditioning on high, and it still took 3 hours for the room to cool off. There were gross white stains in several places on the carpet. The coffee pot in our room was filthy, and a plastic piece was missing from the unit. The hotel refused to take action with regard to any of my complaints. We will not stay here again, and certainly would not recommend it.

This motel was clean and convenient. The only problem we encountered was extremely noisy neighbors in the next room and on the balcony right outside our door (up til 3 in the morning or so). Called night manager twice, and after second call the noisemakers quit.

The Ramada Limited was very clean and the rooms were larger than average. However, they had very little rooms to rent and that made parking a challenge. The Continental Breakfast was OK. Nothing special. In my opinion, this Hotel is overpriced compared to other Hotels down the street.
